Again footballcoachscoop.com proves to be worthless.

ESPN just announced UNLV will hire Montana coach Bobby Hauck as their new coach.

Congratulations to a former Buff (Neu era) coach.

THIS IS THE GUY WE SHOULD HAVE HIRED TO REPLACE HAWK! I'm glad only UNLV hired him, so if this guy does decently at UNLV and Hawk does horrible next year, we still have a shot at hiim.

Doubtful that Hauck would pull a Bobby Petrino after one year at a job.

Hauck was not a very good coach when he was here, and his players at Montana have gotten into some serious trouble. He may be skippy's eviler twin brother.

hmm...maybe I was a little too quick then with my infatuation with hiring this guy. His Montana teams seemed to perform well on the field, but I did not know about off-field issues.

Why was he not a very good coach while here? Also, what kind of trouble?

This is a guy that I definitely thought should be on the radar as Hawk's replacement. However, I feel like a large portion of the fan base would automatically not like it because he is an "up-and-coming" coach from a smaller stage. It would be dubbed "Hawk - Part Duex".

may have not been a good coach while at CU, but has proved himself as a head coach at Montana...best of luck to him at UNLV

What was footballcoachscoop.com the FIRST TO REPORT this time?

Bobcat fans (MSU) are glad to see him go ...

care to elaborate? I was actually tantalized by this guy as a possible replacement for Hawk - CU connection, success as a coach, young and energetic, potential great recruiter, etc. Now, you and Fatbuff have seemingly corrected my thinking.

Hauck coached for University of Montana, not Montana State.

The Bobcats are the main rival of the Grizzlies, therefore glad to see him go.

Earlier in the day the scoop was the FIRST TO REPORT that Franchione would be hired. About 45 minutes after I posted that in some thread, (jokingly of course) I heard on ESPN (on TV) that Hauck would be announced as coach on Wednesday.

I take ESPN to be a little more truthful in these things. :smile2:

:yeahthat: Living in Bozeman, watching the UofM go to the NC game five times this decade ... it would be nice to see the Grizzlies take a step back.

Oh, just murder, assault, and armed robbery.

Players at CU loved him....fans hated him for flipping them off while they were booing.

He also had some personal, wife, problems that he had to deal with.

Everything I heard about him was positive.

And that's montana. What could possibly go wrong in Vegas?
