New DB and/or WR coach?

Anyone out there heard anything about possible replacements yet? I'm making the assumption that Ambrose is headed to DB coach.

Just wondering what's happening here, seems like other staffs are making quick work of filling their vacant assistant positions.

I thought Bohn had promised to throw the AD's "full support" behind the football program to make it successful with getting in quality assistants being a top priority?

:confused::confused::confused:

Ambrose is DB, and there is a search for a WR coach, with the potential for just reshuffling within the staff...no idea on what's going on though with the search.

No news, which is not good news.

We really need someone to start up with the new year and hit the recruiting trail for us. Ideally, someone who can bring some commits from another program in short order. David Beaty, formerly of Kansas, is my favorite and I've posted his credentials a number of times. I think we should also look at Jim Pry, formerly of Illinois. Good recruiter and he could actually coach TEs in addition to slot WRs, which could move Riddle to RBs (what he coached at Boise State) and Hagan to WRs (what he coached under GB).

yep. The dead period ends January 1st and then there are two quiet period days on January 2nd and 3rd. We better have something figured out by then.

Unfortunately that still keeps "The Riddler" at special teams. It'd be nice if we could bring in a REAL special teams coach since Hawk obviously doesn't want to do what a TRUE leader/coach should do - fire those who underperform. Instead he wants to keep a friend on the staff despite the obvious inadequacies.

The one and only:

(note to youngsters, Frank Gorshin will always be the Riddler, NOT Jim Carey)

I don't know why everyone thinks we need a new WR coach. We already have the best WR coach in the nation. Just ask him.

True, nobody knows the little things better...the big things, like winning need some cleaning up but otherwise....

In that case Hawk would have to fire himself. I thought the Riddler was Les Miles.

Robin Pflugrad at Montana would be a good choice imo. Hopefully his daughter would be included in a package deal:

OK. I assume by Ambrose, (which I started out this thread with) which still leads me to my original question....ANY LEADS/IDEAS ON WHO THE NEXT WR COACH IS!!!!!!!???????:sad2:

Well that depends. Do you want good ideas with actual insider information, reasonably informed speculation, or can we just make stuff up?

Hopefully we can avoid bringing in an actual proven coach for any of these positions and just bring in some scrubs from the Golden Sun conference or promote a graduate assistant and give him 200k a year.

As much as I hate to say it, we shouldn't be to surprised if Hawkins were to make a move similar to what you just described.

I've heard that the WRs really like Ambrose and want him to be their coach. We'll see. I'm glad that he is well thought of by the kids he coaches.

Surface, surface after a couple of days...happy holidays to all!

To the point, while I get a laugh out of **** that's made up, I'd prefer the stuff in bold print above....
