"Close", that comment by Bohn pisses me off

Close like the bball team is what he said. actually as sad as our bball program their closer than the footyball team. we didn't exactly take any top team to overtime last year. we are far far away
 
I think when you're comparing the basketball program and the football program, the use of the word "close" is far more appropriate in the context of the basketball program. There's solid evidence that points to some pretty dramatic improvement in the basketball program. The football program has regressed. No two ways about it. We're in a far worse situation now than we were when Hawkins took over the football team.

And ironically, it's the basketball coach who refuses to fall back on the fact that his team is close, while the football coach continues to insist against all evidence that his is.

I suspect there is a connection there...
