With the improvement on the court, the atmosphere at the games lately and now this facility getting off the ground, I'm excited to see what Buzz can do with recruiting. Turn it all into some stud big men, Jeff!!! :gobuffs:
This team is one real big man away from being a competitor in the Big XII. Until they get that guy, they will just be a spoiler. A ****ing awesome spoiler thats fun to watch, but just a spoiler nonetheless.
Definitely 2. We're 1 under this season in anticipation of an APR penalty. Since we lost Veal, Coach decided to take the penalty early. Then we graduate Thorne for the 2nd open slot.
There has been speculation that this could go to 3. Crawford is a junior eligibility-wise, but he redshirted during his transfer year and is on track to graduate this spring. It's reported that he wants to go to law school and may choose not to come back next season.

This thread reminds me - Bzdelik had something in his contract about breaking ground on a practice facility, correct? I gather from the timing - meaning there is no sensible reason for the timing given the football team's 'success' and the crap economy - I'm wondering if the clock is ticking on Bohn's responsibility for getting that project going.
I have to say, one of the things that won me over on Bzdelik is that he got this commitment out of the Athletic Department. This is a shrewd guy that knew he wasn't going to let happen to him what happened to Patton - basically trying to build something with little in the way of support. Patton didn't have the leverage to ask for much, as time went on.
Bzdelik took the smart approach: Look guys, you can give me a nice contract but it's money down a hole if you don't invest in the facilities too. Not much talk about that lately, but that could be a program-turning move, particularly if he keeps bringing talent in here.

Really cool the way Bzdelik handled the need for facility upgrades in the media. Didn't use it as an excuse. Said something like all he needs is 94 feet of hardwood, 2 baskets and some players to coach. He was pushing hard for facilities behind the scenes, but that's 100% spot on the attitude to take with your team and the public. Coach B gets it.
