Scott denies report

I cannot help but laugh anymore. It is a freaking circus up here in Boulder.

I'm so confused, is he still living in Boulder? He isn't registered for classes? He's certainly taking his sweet time to transfer.

Another episode of "As the Buff Turns"....good to see Danny has things in hand up there...

And in 2 weeks, he'll be back with the program....sheesh, what a soap opera.

"Senior Demetrius Sumler announced at the beginning of the spring semester he would graduate in May and transfer to another program for his senior season next fall, under an NCAA rule that allows graduates with remaining eligibility such a move. Hawkins opted not to honor Sumler's scholarship for the spring semester and Sumler has appealed that decision. Athletic director Mike Bohn said he was scheduled to meet with Sumler about the issue last week."

wtf? i thought Dan was about the kids getting an education? i get it...Sumler is leaving, but seems harsh. to cut the rug out from under a graduating student.

i've with Boulder Buff......if the term "lack of institutional control" didn't already mean something else it might fit here. no end to the drama (or tragi-comedy) coming out of the Dal W.

The disturbing part in that report, to me anyways, is that Hawkins decided not to give Sumler a scholarship through the end of the year. That sounds fairly petty to me.

I was just about to post that. What a chicken**** move by Hawkins. He doesn't lose anything by letting Sumler keep his scholarship for the spring semester.

The Sumler situation is petty. But we do it "the right way" so I do not think we should sweat it.

yeah, how about this for a wild conspiracy theory guess with no inside info:

he did inquire and didn't like the terms under which he would allowed to return so now he is saying he isn't interested in coming back.

i have no facts to support that at all--- i am just illustrating that there are a million ways this thing could go and we have very incomplete info.

If Scott dont wanna play here, dont let the door hit ya. Kinda think DBT might have a point with the players. Hawkins made a crappy move with Sumler but he makes alot of crappy moves so not surprising. BB is right, you definitely dont even have to be near Boulder to see its a damn circus.

This could be similar to Sumler's situation as well. For all we know he could have told Hawk to go screw cause he wined about his PT or the way they were integrating him into the offense or for some other reason we don't know about.

Hawk can't be that stupid that he doesn't realize how petty and vindictive he looks with the Sumler situation.

In other words, the team voted "thumbs down"
My first reaction as well. Although it never was confirmed and Plati denied that the meeting ever occured.

Yikes. Agreed. ****. Not good.

I'm sorry, but I have a difficult time believing what Dave Plati says anymore. He lost a lot of credibility with me this year.

There is no truth to the rumor that Darrell Scott met with Dan Hawkins. NONE I say. It's all a pack of lies. Vicious lies I say!!!!

don't really care about the Scott part of the story, but can't believe what Hawk is doing to Sumler. Complete Bullsh!t!

fwiw, Scotts GF on FB is saying hes not coming back and its a lie. haha.

Good thing we kept this loser, because he cares about the kids and does the off field things right. This guy is just unbelievable...what possible reason could there be to jack Sumler up? As soon as I come down off of full boil, the HC pegs the idiot meter again....
