Huskers willing to listen if Big Ten calls

When I think of Tom Osborne, I don't think of him being the type to get into what-ifs and publicly making comments like this. Does this kind of freak anyone out? The insider's league of the conferece (ADs and prez types) have to be burning the phone lines right now talking to each other.

What, we're up to four teams heavily rumored to be looking around? CU, UT, NU, Mizzou? This is getting unstable fast.

I think my point is that NU wouldn't be looking to leave if something wasn't up. He has to know something is coming over the horizon.

Or Tom is a attention whore that will do anything to get the fuskers in the news.

Okay! Okay! I just had to take a shot at the fuskers.

Don't stay up waiting for the phone to ring corn ****ers.

Maybe Im missing something, but I really dont see how CU has more TV's tuned in to any given football game than NU does. It sounds like that is the #1 driving force in the conference realignment rumors/speculation.

You guys dont get it. Its not about football. There is a TV land grab about to start, its all about markets year round not just football.

look at warden tom, putting makeup on ferbie fusker so she looks purty strutting her goods on the corner.

we'll see how far the b10 is willing to go for money, too. there was a great deal of whining among b10 academics about adding penn state and their academics are ivy league compared to the fuskers. this will be an interesting test of principle v. money. the only way the fuskers get into the b10 is if the b10 looks for more tv eyeballs from a very storied traditional fb power and they disregard the academic and cultural deficiencies. michigan and the fuskers in the same conf.? talk about loveless marriages.

To quote the great Randy Travis, "If that phone still ain't ringin', I'll assume it still ain't you"

I think the Big 12 is in serious trouble. CU really needs to jump ship to greener pastures in the Pac. As for Nebraska, I Hope they all get gonnerhea and rot in hell.

I think :rip:cornholio:rip: is starting to get very concerned with the CU and UT rumors. Losing both would finish the conference and :rip:cornholio:rip: doesn't have the geography and academics to be a sterling grab for another of the BCS conferences. I think Criminal Tom is advertising.

Nice work bombay. Frank The Tank's blog seems to be the authority in all rumors surrounding Big Ten expansion.

I have a hard time believing Nebraska registers much on the BT's radar, namely because of academics. However, if enough schools say no (ND, UT), we could see the Huskers name called.

What he said is that he gives them the benefit of the doubt; low admission standards but good graduate programs.

But yeah, I tend to agree that giving them a 25 is overrating them significantly.

Correct, I've read that blog before and he stated that since the "academic" argument is fairly subjective and the BigTen doesn't have specifics published, he awarded 25 points to any school that was an AAU member.

You could turn the title of this thread into sort of a You Might be a Redneck mad libs game. Such as:

"Huskers willing to listen if..."

Overalls are allowed as uniforms

UT in the Big 10 just doesn't make sense. It's like CU in the SEC. Whaaaa? At the end of the day, I don't think UT will want to be in a conference it can't control (and ultimately devour). I just don't see this happening. Missouri & Pitt would make more sense. And although I never considered it before reading that blog, Syracuse makes some sense as well.

In other breaking news, I am willing to listen if Megan Fox calls.

I totally agree. UT has it very good in B12 right now and I dont see them giving that up.
