So waht constitutes a blowout?...

A blowout is when you have no hope of winning after the first possession of the second 1/2.

I agree. You can lose by 17 with a bad last 5 minutes of a close game. If you trail by 35 at some point and lose by 17 I would then consider it a blowout. I think a consistant 21 point lead in the second half is a blowout.

If I bet you as an underdog, it's when you don't cover the spread. :smile2:

Yea, depends more on the flow of the game than the actual margin of defeat.

To me, it's when (at any point in the game) you have no hope of coming back score-wise and you can't stop the other team unless they're running it up the middle every play.

When Dan Hawkins coaches against a supposively easy opponent, especially on the road. See Toledo, etc.

When you're driving midway through the third quarter, on the road vs. the #2 team in the nation, at the opponents 4-yd line about to score and put them in a deeeeep hole, and your QB floats an out route that gets picked for 6.

I like Daah's description, although I might amend it to say end of the 3rd quarter.

When you know your team has no chance to come back from any deficit. For instance, when we played Toledo and when they were running the exact same plays that CSU did against us, *gashers*, and you know your coaching staff can't adjust midgame then it's a blowout. See ****ty game planning (against Mizzou the past 3 years).

When the flat footed QB of Toledo runs up the middle untouched for 70 yards.

When Missouri steps on the field against a Ron Collins defense.

When your team has no chance to win even with a substantial amount of time left in the game.
