cu could go bowling this year!

What sucks even worse is that this opens the possibilty that Hawk goes 5-7 this year, goes to the Jenna Jameson Vibrator bowl, wins, and still gets retained for winning a bowl game despite having a losing season at 6-7. :afraid::scared2::ahhhhh::sad1::pissed3:

Hey...that did not warrant a Jenna crack (so to speak). What is the matter with you?

"Hay guys."

Heh, yeah!

HOWEVER... I hate the 6-6 deal as it is. I just can't go for 5-7 and a bowl. For some teams, that would mean getting four easy non-con wins and ONE real win against conference competition. That would just be ridiculous. But college football is insane anyway so might as well I suppose. Plus, it's hard to fire Hawk if that happens. Bad deal IMO.

If they are going to give bowl games to teams with losing records I would just as soon have them give bowl games to every single team in the country so we can officially stop pretending that having a terrible 6-6 season and going to the meineke car care bowl and losing is some sort of accomplishment.

Plati had a suggestion that, rather than giving a bid to a team with a losing record, the top teams in the 1-A FCS (old 1-AA) playoffs could be invited to play in a bowl game. I kind of like the idea...

Personally, I think it should be a requirement that you need a winning conference record to qualify for a bowl.

Despite Hawk's inability to beat anyone, it's way too easy for most teams to qualify - load up on patsies in non-con and go 2-6 in conference, that's all it takes. Nub and K State have perfected this strategy.

Yeah, but Plati also thinks you are internet scum...

No Bowls....16 game playoff....NOW please...the NCAA is a joke

Never happen. The Bowls are a unique aspect of college football that most coaches & athletic directors like. I love the idea of a 16-team playoff, but I think you keep the bowls in place for those teams that don't make the playoff and use the higher tier bowls as playoff games.

I totally agree, who is going to watch a 6-6 bowl game? I wouldn't worry, it would take Talkins 2 years to win 6 games.

Not that any of this matters in this argument but I'm pretty sure they are refering to the Aaron Taylor that went to Notre Dame...As for the Aaron Taylor that went to kNU, ESPN needs to chill on giving credit to Fuskers:

After the 1998 season, Taylor retired from professional football to start a career in business and to help coach high school football. Taylor was recruited to the Cornhuskers from Rider High School in Wichita Falls, Texas.
A failed business venture with a few other former Husker players led to Aaron Taylor's bankruptcy and subsequent auctioning off of his 7 prized championship rings, as well as his Outland Trophy. The former Huskers tried starting a Scarlet and Cream Huskers Themed Restaurant in Omaha, Nebraska, but due to poor management it failed and resulted in nearly $70,000 in back taxes and other miscellaneous expenses. Due to being an Officer in the Restaurant, he was legally liable for taxes. The liquidation of his memorabilia was required under Chapter 7 rules, and despite his best efforts he was not able to purchase them back.[2]
