WHB in KC: Big Ten makes offers?

I'm putting the question mark at the end because who in the hell knows anymore what really is happening. But this station says offers have been made to Mizzou and Nebraska. If that's the case, this should be all over the place by dinnertime.

i hope we don't get aced out by texas and atm going to the p10. that would be a disaster. if the dominoes start to fall, we have to land in the p10 or we are freaking dead. what will be left of the b12 if mizzery, the fuskers, ut, and atm move out will not be pretty...

Color me worried knowing Colorado's fate is in Bohn's hands.

Well, the Bohn concern is valid, but it's like that story we read about what the Pac-10 coaches think of Colorado. They still see us as a major player tradition- and history-wise. Much like OU and UT's dark days of the 80s and 90s, CU's are in the 00s and I think we will rise back to the top just as quickly as they did once we get a coach with a clue.

we really, really need to move aggressively if we can. i wonder if the p10 is holding out hope of the ut/atm thing. of course, if the b10 goes to 14, maybe the p10 will go to 14 as well... if they added CU, utah, atm, and texas... that would be one mutha of a conference. i know it doesn't get us away from texas but at least we aren't left behind in a crushed b12 that would probably lose its bcs bid.

if mizzery, the fuskers, ut, and atm leave, then you have to figure ou and osu are going to try to get into the sec. they aren't going to hang around for this. what would be left? CU, ku, kjuco state, baylor, tech, isu, and some scrubs to be added from among utah, tcu, smu, csu, air force, etc. that would suck. ku is getting screwed in this whole deal. their bb program alone ought to make them attractive. being paired with kjuco state has to be hurting them in these discussions. i would think they'd try to sell themselves a pairing to mizzery but i think the b10 would rather just take the fuskers and mizzery and then go east (or convince notre dame) for the 14th spot.

I wouldn't take to much stock in this report. It makes no sense at this time to make any kind of offer(s) until the B10/11 Conference meetings in June.

And the Big 12 history books will forever show that it was the Buffs, not the Nubs, who were the last North team to win the conference title.

See you in the Rose Bowl bitches.

KSU won in 2003. Just sayin'.

NU is going to win it in 2010, and then will still have one more year in the Big 12 to close out this pathetic conference in 2011!! Just sayin'

And by the way NU has 2 Big 12 titles...to CU's 1. NU has played in the game 5 times, to CU's 4. Nebraska's worst loss in the 3 was by 10 to Texas in 1996. In 2 of CU's 3, CU lost by at least 39 points! Keep sticking your chest out there RATZ!!!!

Ok, memory is bad, but Nebraska still sucks balls - that one I'm sure about.
Good riddance.

D'oh, well it wasn't Nebraska. How about this (I think this is right):

Total Big 12 Conference Championships won:

Buffs - 1
Huskers - 0

1997 and 1999 they won the Big 12 championship.

BTW, this report has been debunked in the chicago papers and by the minnesota AD.

Not saying that CU was awesome in those defeats, but we did win the Norte. Can't say the same for an even worse fusker squad. We backed into a few of those games as well.

This story seems to have died down a bit and the Big 10 is denying that any offers have been made.

Well until we know for sure that the invites have been extended to CU, Nu & Mizzu, then we can only assume everything is still undecided by the P10 & B10. My gut feeling is that nothing will be offered to any school until the regular season is over to allow time for the dust to settle during the next off season.

It's a natural, they already have a rivalry with Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska are right next door. It's a done deal. KC will get screwed, because Texans won't want anymore Big 12 championships played at Arrowhead or the Sprint Center.
