Beebe has lost his mind

 what goon. Instead of addressing problems hes trying to go on the offensive and bully the other schools. asshole.

A: Well, whether it’s a network or one media entity that buys us, the fact that we cover three time zones is very attractive for programming purposes. Then the volume of games and the breadth of the amount of the country it would cover would be highly attractive, too. That’s something we’re exploring

Oooh. Ohhh. Cool. Beebe actually made an indirect reference to CU by pointing out a Big12-Pac10 would cover 3 time zones.

Can you feel the love?

I'd be just fine if Beebe kicked us out. Then we wouldn't have to pay any exit penalties and we could join the Pac-10 straight away after suing the Big 12 for a couple million bucks.

They are not in the process of negotiating jack **** in the Big 12 offices right now, so what "damages" is he worried about in the short term based on rumors?

Maybe he can hire Paul Tagliabue and split costs with the Big East on "how to save a troubled conference".

That's a interesting concept you have Snowbuff.

1. Can he (alone) kick CU or anyone else out of the B12 or would it have to be put to a vote? I don't see this happening, it would bring down the whole house of cards.

2. If CU or any other school were to be kicked out, is there really no loss of $$$? For a school to announce their leaving is one thing, being told to leave is another.

3. Does it cause any B12 school to go independent or get a quick invatation from the P-10 or B-10? A B12 school expulsion, is another conference's gain.

Beebe talks more s*it than a A.M. radio

My impression from reading / hearing several Beebe interviews is that he doesn't have the power to do jack @#!#, and that the decision making authority rests in the hands of the member institution votes. That's why you see all his quotes about being stuck between a rock and a hard place on the revenue sharing issue. Also, is it me or does Larry Scott come off as way, way more competent and sound like the PAC 10 actually is putting together a plan with consensus from its members on how to move forward, whereas from Beebe all you get is "we're looking at some....stuff".

Looks like a combination of Less Nesman (WKRP) and Dwight Shrute (The Office). You think this goober has ever played any sports? Doubtful.....

Maybe Beebe is just tired of all whining coming from MU and NU.

From the article that ScottyBuff provided, I found this interesting quote:

"Texas athletic director DeLoss Dodds told The Dallas Morning News he thinks the Big 12 could survive with 10 members if two schools were to leave for the Big Ten (most likely Missouri and Nebraska).

"If two teams come out of the Big 12, I don't think it changes our world that much," Dodds told the Morning News. "

MU and NU better watch their rears.

Hey, at this point, the Texas schools could engineer a booting for both at the league meetings next month. It wouldn't shock me, especially with how Mizzou has burned bridges left and right with the league.

And if the Big 10 somehow doesn't add them? Hello CUSA! lol

UT calls the shots. It would be pretty funny if MU, or somebody not named CU, got the boot. UT is arrogant enough to try something like that.

That would be cruel...at least MU would keep their Texas recruiting base.

I would count Oklahoma State as one of those schools who would want to boot MU and NU out...didn't Missouri's guv compare OSU to Northwestern? The same for Texas Tech to Wisconsin.

MO's guv might have offended KSU as well.

He's working on the little things, like making sure all of his ADs have a twinkle in their eye.

Hey DeLoss, get back to us next December when the conference isn't playing a championship game and is having to refund TV money as a result, then tell us if your world changed when the conference went to 10 teams....

Dodds and Beebe really have their heads up their butts if they really think they can just sit back and demand that the league stay together just because they say so.

Problem is Texas seems to be willing to explore all their options...read the latest Dodds quotes in the USA Today article. Even discusses that Texas has considered going independent. Texas is going to do what is best for Texas, now and always. Its in their best interest to stretch this out and talk to all the potential suitors, even if they might want to stay in the Big 12, since they don't have to worry about finding a place anywhere they might want. The league will not be settled until Texas makes a definitive choice on what it wants to do, which means the PAC 10 partnership won't get serious until Texas makes a decision. If the Big 10 stretches this out past next month (which looks likely) it disrupts the PAC 10 from being able to make any serious moves this year (or forces them into sub-optimal moves) and potentially delays their network or TV deal.

I can actually see Bebe's point to some extent. He has to renegotiate the Fox contract and he wants to explore a joint Network with the PAC-10. All the "flirting" with other conferences by some member institutions undermines those initiatives. Missouri may have shot itself in the foot with the Big 10 - some believe they leaked stories for who knows what purpose. The recent ACC TV contract is an updated data point in TV contract amounts. The PAC 10 knows that a network is the only thing that is going to get them to anything approximating big money - expansion by itself creates little increase in value and may in fact diminish value through dilution.

I believe CU is best off financially with the Big 12. The recent Forbes list of the most valuable college football programs - the top 20 were dominated by the SEC, Big 10 and Big 12 - the PAC10 only had one team on the list (USC) - this is somewhat indicative of what of the perceived value of the conference brands.

When Beebe is talking about "getting on the plane", he's speaking to Texas, too.

Maybe he's mostly speaking to Texas while many of the other teams in the conference are just held hostage.

They're part-timers in the mountain time zone.

You're correct. Sort of. Officially, they're in the Mountain Time Zone all year. Technically, they only observe Mountain Standard Time. So, in the fall, they're observing MST when the rest of the MTZ is, but in the spring they're observing MST when the rest of the MTZ is observing MDT. But yes, essentially they're in the MTZ half the year and PTZ the other half (PST).
