Missou leave for the Big Eleven already!

At least it would get the ball rolling. Right now everyone is standing around looking at each other wondering who is going to go first.

Anyone believing the Big 10's official statement that expansion, if it happens, won't occur before December?

I'm personally calling B.S. on that one. They'll want things done for the 2012 football season and it will take 2 full years for schools to jump conferences.

I get the sense Mizzou is just the slutty girlfriend that plays the role of making Notre Dame jealous.

The B10 prolly has no qualms with ****ing the Tigers and kicking them to the curb as soon as they can get some golden dome.

That's kind of what I think. They wanted to get the pressure off. Someone must have slipped up earlier this spring and really let some big stuff out. So the natural move is to walk it all back in, which they have successfully done. Now they can come out one day and say "Hey we're expanding now. Thanks." and jusst have it done without all the buildup. Judging by Mizzou's permanent bridge-burning, I think that's what has happened. MU knows their gone. But the Big 10 is walking it all back so the media/fan pressure will go down a bit.

Mizzou football will take a big kick in the nuts if they go to the Big XII. Where are they going to recruit from? Their Texas recruiting ability, which they use pretty well now, will all but dry up. Maybe a little from Ohio and Penn, but they don't provide the number of athletes that Texas does. They and Nebraska will suffer for it.

Agree with this sentiment. If the Pac 10 makes a play for the six as rumored and that comes together, it could force ND to realize they can't afford to stay as an indy and maybe makes them quickly change their mind. If that happens, I wouldn't be surprised if the Big Televen stops there. Realistically, they wouldn't have to go for a quick, big expansion because there really is nobody they are looking at that would be a candidate for the SEC from what I can tell (and Texass is not going there), they could pluck anyone they want at anytime from the Big East, and Mizzou and kNU are not rumored to be targets of any other conference right now and would appear to be available down the road.

Will be very interesting to watch this play out.

I would love to see ND try to stick as an independent and get left out in the cold. If the 4 mega conferenced indeed have power to discontinue the BCS ND would lose its guarantees.
