All jokes aside... I feel kinda bad for them. ISU has always had an uphill battle in the Big Eight/12. They're a plucky AD with great wrestling and spunky hoops programs and sometimes are decent in football, with solid academics, but they're in an afterthought state in a remote part of Iowa. This letter makes me long for the old Big Eight, as I believe those schools all felt like a family -- dysfunctional, of course -- but there was something special about it. Now everyone is just up for a money grab and past relations don't matter. I realize ISU has no reason to have a seat at the next generation of conferences, but man. I don't give a crap about KU, KSU or Baylor, but I kind of feel like leaving ISU is like driving a sad dog to the country and leaving him alongside the road to die. I wish them well in the MAC.
