I know it may seem small, but we need to let people at Pac 10 universities know (via letters to editor, message boards posts / newspaper comments) about why the Pac 10 should add Colorado. We need to try to create a groundswell of support among fans (and there are fans in administration at the Pac 10 schools) for CU over Baylor (and hell, CU over anyone else). I know it sounds stupid, but I can't think of anything else to do. I need to burn some negative energy. Let people know about why the U of Colorado would be a great addition to the Pac 10.

Competitive Standpoint:

* From a competitive standpoint, we can and should point out that we would be the 2nd most successful program all-time in the Pac 10 (from a wins and % standpoint) if admitted.

* Still top 20 all-time in wins and winning % (despite being down -- let them know we've been down before and always come back)

* Have a national champion, a Hesiman winner, multiple Thorpe winners, Lombardi winners, etc.

Academics:
* Ranked in top 3 in Big 12 by US News

* Rated #14 University in the world by _______ (can't remember name of ranking system, someone help me out)

* AAU member

Miscellaneous
* Boulder is one of the great college towns in America. (Especially compared to Waco)

* Great cultural fit with Pac 10 schools

* You bow down to Texas, you better get the vaseline ready. Already killed SWC, soon to kill Big 12. Texas looks out for itself only as evidenced by fact that they may be demanding Baylor.

Great...but the PAC wants UT.....if they must take BF Idaho to get the horns, the rest is irrelevant.....

I don't disagree. However, I still think the Pac 10 wants CU and I think we owe it to our university to try to do whatever we can to help. If groundswell is strong enough, we may be able to get in through other means -- why does Texas need OU and OSU, for example.

I'm sure a bunch of e-mails from a bunch of pinheads like us are really going to help our cause.

I think we should send Dan Talkins over to the Pac 10 meetings to talk us up.. maybe they'll buy his bull****.. We all fell for it at the beginning.

I bet sportsfan101 was one of the douchebags emailing that community college (not KSU, a different one) to get Simmons' transcript to CU.

Once again, I seriously doubt that the PAC will prostitute themselves to the degree that would be necesary to allow Baylor in.

2005? Come on.

its the little things, things are about to pop.. we are close.. We need to get a Hall of Fame thread of hawkisms going this summer.

Sportsfan, let's take it easy.. The Pac 10 is going to decide what the best fit is for them.. If they are about academics, CU will get an invite in a 16 team conference so I'm not going to be concerned about that and I really don't know what the hell the Texas legislature can do to force UT and A$M to take Baylor.. Strip funding? Is that going to fly for a small private school in the middle of nowhere?

Some can argue that Baylor has better academics than CU.

Jimmy, apparently Texas' legislature was able to strong-arm Baylor over TCU into the Big 12 South (in fact, TCU was listed in early documents as a member over Baylor!), so I'm not as confident as you to think that the Texas legislature can't strong-arm Baylor into the Pac 10.

The sitting Texas Governor isn't a Baylor alum this time around. This is all a bunch of hoo-haw.

This was a long time ago during a time when the Big 8 really didn't give a **** who the other two teams were (which has turned out to be a big mistake) since they wanted A$M and Texas.. The California schools (who run the Pac 10) aren't going to want four matching schools in another state..

Ann Richards drunk ass ain't the governor either..

One thing we have on our side is I'm be shocked if Pac 10 takes a Baptist school. They've said BYU is off the table because it's Mormon, so I assume the same rule applies to the Baptists?

and sportsfan, give me a link to the documents that said TCU was getting in over Baylor... TCU wasn't **** during that time and Baylor was a much better football program than they were at the time.

Good Gawd, man. "The One thing we have on our side"? We have lots of things on our side here. You pointed some of them out yourself. It's not like the Pac just got this hair brained idea that CU might be a good fit in their conference.

Daaah, How did your pissbomb sortee go over in Walnut Creek? Are you bombing again tomorrow?

Daaah-
You're a f'in moron. I think that CU potentially getting left behind would be the biggest story in CU athletics for the last 20 years. Because I'm concerned doesn't mean I'm a douche that e-mails Kansas State for some kids' transcript that can't play anyway.

If we all wear the same color shirt, nothing will happen.

Wow. You guys at CU are insane. Remember the Cali schools are stuck-up leftists (it's a good thing). No way in hell they add Baylor to appease a handful of reactionary Texas legislature demagogues. The way I see it, if the Pac-10 wants to expand then 2 schools get invites no matter what scenario: CU and Texas. They are "like institutions" in important TV markets. Whether Texas says yes or no, CU still gets the invite. A&M gets an invite, if Texas insists and the Pac feels generous. It's a "like institution" in academics and athletics; culturally weird but w/e, can deal with it. Texas Tech and Okie St don't make a positive contribution to the Pac; Utah is a better combo of academics, athletics, and TV market. OU has good athletics, good undergrad performance, needs better grad schools, marginal TV market. Would luv to see Utah, CU, Texas and A&M. Others are marginal at best. Bear Down!

You have no idea how nuts we are. If college football was "southpark", we'd be Butters. Bumbling, insecure, craving acceptance, but capable of flashes of brilliance from time to time.

Best comment I have seen on this board since, I don't know when.

The Buffs better have everyone (AD, Academic Administration, Booster Groups, Colorado Legislature, etc.) on the same page or the University of Colorado will be sucking hind tit on the conference realignment situation. Don't underestimate what those clowns in the State of Texas will do when it comes to taking care of the University of Texas and Texas A & M.

Good Luck!

Bohn better have his Professor Chaos uniform on right now.
