If The Pac 10 Wants To Show Texas Who Has Hand They Invite CU Tomorrow

Talked to a few people tonight, the solution is fairly easy. I'd call the Texas Legislature bluff on this one. They still seem to think that the Big 12 can survive and is a viable alternative. A select few wrongly believe they have the leverage to demand that Baylor has to be invited.

The first thing you do is break up the Big 12. Invite Colorado immediately. They will accept at once because right now they are afraid that they could be left behind in a break up.

This will put the Texas schools in a precarious position. Nebraska and Missouri will not commit and Colorado is already gone.

Nobody, not the SEC nor the Big Ten will take all four Texas schools. The Pac 10 doesn't have to worry about losing out by not taking Baylor. The group won't be going anywhere, it will just be lingering, precariously.

Began to apply pressure on the Tech political powers and remind them that the Pac 10 is the only conference that will offer membership. Than remind Texas and TAMU that the Big 12 won't work out for the exact same reasons the SWC didn't work out.

Texas can not go Independent. Tonight proved that. They can not stay in the Big 12, it is dying. Texas/TAMU/Tech will be forced to use their political capital against Baylor for self perseverance.

The Pac 10 needs to be smart about this and not give in. I'd rather have a Pac 11 than a Pac 16 with Baylor. It goes against everything this conference is about and I'm a Texas conservative. I find it curious that they care about Baylor now but had no problems leaving TCU/SMU/Rice in the dust. Odd.

Also if the original Orangebloods article is accurate we're talking 15 legislators out of `200, the legislature isn't in session because they only meet like every 2 years, and the current governor is an Aggy.

Listen. What the hell is the Texas legislature supposed to do? They have to at least ACT like they are looking out for Baylor and Baylor's constituants. I'm sure some calls were made by Baylor money to the legislators. The politicians have to play the game. I highly doubt the Pac 10 folks would give in to such a transparent political move as this.

Yeah I would call their bluff on the 4 Texas schools. I don't think Arizona and Arizona State will be happy with dealing with 4 Texas schools in their division.. So what 15 people hold up funding for the Texas schools. for awhile.. UT and A$M will eventually get their money.


But its up to the Pac 10.. I really don't know dollar wise how much the Colorado market is worth to the Pac 10..

I'm a little surprised Baylor and its "advocates" haven't been a part of this earlier. to be openly kicked to the curb for Tech. it was bound to happen. needs to run its course, like a fever.

I don't live in Texas but I am close and am down there frequently. Simply put, Baylor doesn't have the stroke it did back in the 90s. This is just a ploy to say they tried to keep BU in a big-time conference. No way in hell the state of Texas keeps UT, A&M and Tech from benefiting because of Baylor. None.

With Utah you will get some push back to add BYU with Oklahoma you have to add Okie Lite, and apparently if you want Texas you have to invite everybody in the f-ing state!! CU is the only one out there who is free and clear. "Yeah bro we are in man just send the word and we are totally there!" Hopefully the Pac 10 will see this and they will just invite CU first.

Thinking this through, I wonder if part of what's going on here might be an attempt to save the Big XII by putting the Texass schools in a position where the Pac-10 might back off of inviting them. The thinking might be that if they can keep the Pac-10 from doing a wholesale raid on the Big XII, they can limit the damage to losing CU, and probably Mizzou and UNL to the Big Ten, but that those schools can be replaced. And handily, at least one of the replacements might just be a Texass school (TCU). There might be a thought that they can manipulate this situation to the point that Texass has a BCS league it dominates even more than it does now. Inviting OU and OSU and getting them on board would pretty much kill that idea. There would be nothing appealing left of the Big XII, and at that point I think there would be all kinds of reasons for Texass to back off and let go of the Big XII and let the 3 schools chase the money...

OU and OSU are puppets though, and I even if they receive early bids, I doubt they make a decision before UTexas does.
