Just saw a report on ESPN (TV) titled "Colorado Moving West?" I thought, here we go, Pac-10 is moving forward w/o worrying about what UT wants.

Nope. Highlighted a story about the MWC looking at us for expansion along with BSU.

I really have the worst feeling that the "behind the scenes" and "high road quietness" from the administration and AD along with what looks like trial balloons from Kiszla, Lombardi, Ringo et. al about how the MWC wouldn't be "all that bad," means that what we thought was the admin and AD maneuvering to keep us on the road to the Pac-10 has really turned into us headed to the MWC.

This is really starting to feel like Thanksgiving 2009 all over again...

It's sad to see that the admin might be using the media as trail balloons for the MWC. I'm still comfortable with the idea of going to the MWC after all and seeing CU do well after what will be a difficult transitional period. At least we can look at what Temple did after they were booted from the Big East and prepare for some lean years.

There is only one way I can see that we end up stuck in the MWC. That's if the Big XII does implode, Mizzou and UNL go to the Big Ten and the Pac-10 takes 6 teams, including Baylor instead of CU. As of last night reports are that Baylor is not even on the Pac-10s list. CU is known to have been on their list for a long time.

I have to wonder if this talk isn't being driven by people at the Mountain West Conference offices, with some help from the CSU people. Nationally, UT is probably pushing the story too - trying to tell the potential defectors that they could end up in minor conferences seems to be a big part of their propaganda campaign right now... Of course the MWC is interested in CU. They're also interested in trying to survive. For them, trying to get CU to come to them is much more appealing than possibly watching Utah, BYU, TCU, Boise and maybe even New Mexico running off to better conferences.

What amazes me is that more people seem to be falling for this than even fell for Buddy Jones' Baylor rulez bull****...

I too thought, "oh ****, they are floating trial balloons", when I saw the Jizsla and Ringo articles. I was hoping I was being paranoid, but you may be on to something here....I have strong faith in this admins. ability to **** the situation up.

Junction has it right.

Barring a highly unlikely doomsday series of events, CU will either be joining the Pac or staying in the Big 12. Odds of us joining the Big 10 may even be better than us joining the MWC.

On the "trial balloon" issue:

Most of us recognize (or at least suspect) that Neil Woelk stumps for Mike Bohn's office in the local paper. Floating trial balloons, getting the CU side of a story out, etc.

Anyway, Ringo just posted on the Scout board that those of us who have been frustrated by the local media's failure to support CU and make CU's obvious BCS or superconference case... will be very happy with the article Neil will be publishing in the Camera tomorrow.

CU is cash starved enough and Bohn knows it - remember Bohn's comment about the 9 million dollar scholarship obligation? I think MWC is plan C if plan A big XII stays together, plan B Pac 10 invite fall through. I don't like all this talk either and wish somebody outside of our alumni base would say something to promote the merits of the Pac 10 opposed to the MWC. I think its being fueled by CSU peeps and CU detractors. There would be so much heat on Bohn and Stephano from the alumni if this move was made and either the Big XII or Pac X was an option that they would both be out of a job. I think its just posturing by Texas big wigs - I bet Kizla and Ringo are on their payroll.

Im hoping for Pac or stay put, no way I want to be in the MWC eventhough we have been playing like we belong there.

CSU doesn't have "peeps".

I don't buy the trial balloon thing from Jizla, because he's an idot - pure and simple. His column was written to try to throw CU under the bus because he's a Mizzou guy and has never gotten over the 5th down. His columns have about as much influence as Ringos do. Ringo has no pull, either. Woelk does, though. Surprisingly, we've not heard a thing from Patrick Ridgell on the subject.

I honestly think this is all being fueled by UT. UT desperately wants the Big 12 to stay intact and are doing all kinds of behind-the-scenes politicing to keep the status quo.

This.

I was amazed to see CU and the MWC merit a mention on SportsCenter this morning. So the MWC wants us... BFD! That doesn't mean we want them. This is akin to saying that the Big East is interested in Texas. No ****, but it won't happen.

Very much like the kid who held his own press conference a couple of years ago to announce his signing at a school who did not tender an offer.

Exactly!! Kizla will do whatever he can to prevent CU from prospering and I still think he's getting a kickback from the Texas politicians for writing that article. Buddy Jones probably has his and Ringo's number on speed dial

At least you won't be left out, be glad you are going to the MWC. Face it CU isn't relevant anymore and hasn't been for a long time academically or athletically. Good luck and Hook 'em!

If we're irrelevant, then what the **** is Baylor? You must not be looking to make friends here.

I am not looking to make enemies either but I won't kiss your ass. Baylor is superior academically and has more athletic success than CU other than football. You both suck in football though.

Actually Turduardo is a flaming Texasshole. UT is so superior she has to take time out of her day to troll little old CU's boards. I geuss the Bama board was a little too rough for her ego.

Nope, we're going to the Pac-16 just like your wHorns are. UT can try to bull**** and bully their way into keeping everybody under their thumb in the Big XII, but too many have had enough.

Citations please? Unless you're quoting Buddy/Starr you won't find evidence to support your assertions.

If you think competing in the Big XII North is tough how do you figure it will be any easier in the eastern division of the Pac 16? You will be crushed, but I guess you'll reap the payday watching us win NCs in the meantime so it is all the same to you. Instead of being the Baylor of the North, you'll be the Washington State of the East.

No, Baylor is not superior to CU academically. No serious ranking has ever put it there (Focus on the Family college journal doesn't count). It's not even close, as evidenced by the fact that it produced Buddy Gump. And nobody gives a **** about their softball and golf championships. Not even them, if they're honest about it.

Oh, and kiss my ass.

Up until we hired Squawkins, we owned the North, oddly enough we beat TT all the time, too bad UT can't.

Welcome, Douche. It will be good to see you dip****s take your inevitable fall.

Baylor is academically superior to Colorado? That's silly. Look at the AAU member list. Also look at the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the Payscale College Salary Report. Not only do we rank higher than Baylor (which is not even an AAU member), we also rank higher than Texas.

Our football program lags behind UT, OU and NU within the Big 12. We're about the same as Texas A&M in wins, prestige, and other measures. But we've got a winning record head-to-head against them. Other than football, CU is known for its endurance sports (Cross Country and certain T&F events) along with our Ski program. Both are among the elite in the nation. Our Men's Basketball team has been up and down, mostly mediocre. But we've also been to 2 Final Fours. Our Women's Basketball team has a great history. Etc., etc.

I'm not arguing with you, because you're so far off base there is nothing to argue. Hopefully I educated you, though.

Face it, CU is irrelevant in athletics and is not going to be relevant again anytime real soon. Best of luck to you chips, but I'll go ahead and stick a fork in you and tell you you are done.

Don't you have a pizza to deliver Terduado? Anyway, we weren't the Baylor of the north that falls on ISU dumbass. I guess Texass become OU to USC/runner up. Running through the Pac is not like running throuth the B12. A lot of tough road games. So if NC ment non-conference your right. Keep running it up on UTEP and Sam Houston State.
