A lot more may be at stake for the P10 than Baylor vs. CU

It seems to me that whether the P10 chooses to invite CU or BU will dictate the relationship between Texas and the conference going forward. If the P10 succumbs to pressure and invites Baylor, it will be opening the door for UT to dominate influence in the conference like they have in the B12.

If however the theory that they have already offered CU is real, they have in essence dictated the terms of Texas' P10 membership going forward, should UT then accept. I think the way Texas does things is foreign to many in the Pac10, and they might find it a little repulsive. Of course, lots of cash will cause one to put up with a bunch of bull**** as well.
 
That's what I think as well - but I also think that Pac10 may be 100% blinded by getting the cash that UT might bring.

With UU and CU added, I think the answer would be "yes". With UT and their lackeys in the mix, the conference will have a very different feel to it. There's no way around it. Maybe the Pac doesn't care, but I suspect there are some member institution Presidents who do care.
 
UT fits in with the P10 very well on all levels. It's the baggage (and little brothers) that they would bring with them that would change the complexion of the conference.

I do agree that how this all goes down will dictate how the conference moves forward. If CU gets an unconditional invite (not conditional on anything UT does), then the P10 is laying down the law. If CU's invite (if they even get one) is conditional upon UT, then UT will be in charge. And when UT is in charge, they like to let people know it.
