2 year bowl ban and 20 schollies...

Holy sh*t. That's far worse than I thought would happen. 20 scholarships? Hell, that's damn near a death penalty. That's 20 guys that won't be playing for USC that *might* decide that CU is a pretty good spot. Add in the new coaching staff, and USC is in BIG trouble.

Someone posted this in the original USC thread, but in addition to the loss of schollies/postseason ban, any player with 2 years of eligibility or less can transfer w/o having to sit out a year because of the bowl ban.

How long do they lose the 20 scholarships? What do they do with the scholarships they already have? I'm assuming this moves them from 85 down to 65, but for how long?

Good question Sacky...not sure how exactly the scholarship situation plays out. I think it's a loss of 10 per year for the next 2 years.

it will be interesting to see if they can circle the wagons. It will be tough keeping the juniors and seniors there. If this happened to CU, we would be royally screwed.

USC sanctions...WOW

The NCAA kicked them in the nuts pretty, much harder than i expected:

4 years probation
Vacate all wins from 12/04-1/06
loss of 30 schollies
2 year bowl ban

So in the college football world, Neuhiesal is now the king of Los Angeles!

I really didn't think the NCAA had it in them.

"The committee seriously considered the imposition of a television ban as a penalty in this case ... was a very close call."

being reported by the gameday guys

I know (or have met) about an average of ten people who've graduated from most of the big big schools--that's just how it works out over time, when you're old like me.

Most schools offer a mixed bag of people I like and people I don't like (I've even liked a few nebraska grads along the way). But sometimes, a school will offer such a high percentage of a particular quality, it makes me wonder if there isn't something statistically significant going on there.

For instance. Damn near every girl I've ever met from the University of Kansas was bat-****-****ing crazy. No kidding. It's uncanny. And really, I've met a lot more than ten because Kansas had the same Spring break we did back in the day. But Spring Break or otherwise...****ing crazy in the noggin.

Nearly every West Virginia grad I've met is likable and capable. Also, they all drink...a lot. Good people.

But every single USC grad I've ever met was a ****-rag, ****face, snatch-head mother ****ing dick-nosed grundle. NO exceptions. Not one. **** YOU GUYS!!!!

Be nice to see the formal reporrt when it comes out tomorrow ... just how much they were caught cheating and what it consisted of.

I have a feeling that Reggie and Pete will both be revealed as lying sacks of ****.

Grab as many of their players as possible Hawk...

All of a sudden Hawkins has become a "coach"? Everyone has hated him for the last year but now because of the Pac expansion, everyone is so happy they love Hawkins again. Probably a good thing because I bet he will be retained.
