I imagine his welcome tour being like the Mash episode where a NK soldier surrenders to Hawkey and Radar. They make a comment like, "come on, there's a whole camp you haven't surrendered to yet."

I was expecting: "you know, it's like breaking a sidewalk, once you get the mojo pumped, you get your trunk, and then you don't try to join the Pac 10, you be the Pac 10, it's the whole deal we're worknig on here." Or words of similar import....

Dan is going to be energized and the Buffs are going to win some -- 7 or 8 -- games this year. Recruiting is going to soar and the administration will be backing the program much more than in the recent past.

Start thinking positively. Mac started slowly and that turned out ok. Dan has made a lot of mistakes at CU, but he's had a lot of success in his career. This is the turnaround year. Lots of starters returning and the coach knows he has to win or he's gone.

I'm betting on Dan.

(Help me, DBT!)

lol, ok, love the enthusiasm. I hope DH proves me wrong, he won't, but I'm OK with a plate of crow if CU wins seven.

Lol,

But seriously, I think Hawkins wins just enough this year to make the decision really freaking hard. (6 wins)

You're doing fine by yourself!

Hey, this could be just the elixir that The Hawk needs! This will re-energize everyone associated with CU. The coaches. The players. The administration. The students. The fans. The recruits. To everyone involved, this is like getting a heart transplant. Given all of that, it is even more incumbent on Hawkins to turn it around this year. We have two years to prepare for the Big XII. The juniors and seniors on this team will be the last CU players to ever play in the Big XII / Big VIII Conference. They must take pride in that and leave a solid legacy. They must give all they have to go out on top. The remainder of the guys will be the first to lead CU to a new era in one of the most historic programs in college football. They must prepare to be the leaders that take CU into this new era. This day should infuse EVERYONE with newly found energy and heart. If Dan Hawkins is the coach that I believed he was, that most of us believed he was, when he was hired, he will sieze upon this moment to re-establish himself as a premier coach.

Don't you want to go into the Pac 10 with some momentum? Would you really rather have another crap season and get rid of Dan, than watch Dan turn this thing around and get on the road to respectability (and beyond) ?

I wasn't on this site when Dan was hired, but I'm sure people were pretty darned enthusiastic that he was hired. Yeah, it's been awful three of the past four years. But, there's hope. Dan is Phil Jackson, if Phil had been hired by the Clippers rather than the Bulls and Lakers. Phil's act would be tough to take if he were coaching a losing team, but he's vastly more charming coaching a winner. All the stuff people hate about Dan will be charming quirks when he's 10-2 and playing in the Pac 10 championship game....

As part of the Pac 10 invitation celebration, I propose a moratorium on Hawk Hate -- unless and until he loses to CSU or Hawaii and doesn't win one of Cal and Georgia.

Not gonna do it. I can't stand the guy. He's an incompetent moron. He lost to Toledo. I will despise him until he can give me a reason not to.

DCBuff - Plain & simple, You gain momentum with wins. If the Buffs don't have wins when they start P-10 play, they won't get respect from P-10 teams.

I agree and I am somewhat pissed I had to bring him up on this glorious day, but I think the pictures were just too funny. I have to ignore Hawk is still our coach, but I am not letting him gonna spoil my excitement ... which quite frankly is the first excitement I have had about CU football since the West Virginia game in 2008.

WooHOO!! Awesome news today!! Great to be Buff!! Next great moment will be f ucktard gets $h!tcanned!! Cant wait for that.
