Now that we know we're in the Pac 11 with more expansion likely, have your feelings changed?

My belief is that it is more important now than ever to do what we can do as fans to make sure that CU goes into our new conference from a position of strength.

Here's what I have done:

- Went from 2 season tickets to 3 in football
- Moved 1 section closer to the 50 yard line (paid more, but was able to snag seats on the aisle)
- Increased my donation by 5x (and secured decent parking)

Here's what I will do:

- Go from 2 season tickets to 3 in men's basketball
- Travel to see CU in the Las Vegas Invitational basketball tournament for Thanksgiving weekend
- Increase my donation in basketball to secure a parking space
- Step up with a donation, if asked, in order to support a new project (i.e., Balch renovation, Folsom and/or Coors video scoreboards, permanent football indoor practice facility, etc.)
- Pick a non-revenue sport or two to support by buying season tickets, attend some matches, and donate the rest (probably Volleyball since my wife likes it a lot and I can get into it a bit)
- Buy all the new CU Pacific Athletic Conference gear I can find as it comes out
- Start attending all the Buff Club and other fundraising events I can, as time permits

What have you done? What will you do? Has anything changed for you based on today's announcement?

I spent a whole lot of money at last year's People's Fair in the arcade throwing basketballs trying to win a particular Colorado jersey, at which I was ultimately unsuccessful. However I found the same jersey at the first game of the '09 season being sold out of the trunk of a car on College avenue.

Does that count?

Okay, seriously, I made my dedicated science major son purchase a student season ticket despite his protest he doesn't have time to watch football and basketball and would prefer to study. Yes, on a Saturday. (Where the &^%$ did he get these priorities all screwed up?) I told him I'd pay for it and if he shows up for ONE MINUTE a game, I'd buy him lunch every time. It's bribery but I shall prevail.

Thinking about getting a subscription to Buffs TV this year for a start and will buy some Pac 10/12/16 gear as well.

Considering renewing my season tickets. Just called my mom to inform her that she and my stepdad along with my sister and her new OU husband will be attending the last CU/NU game over Thanksgiving in Folsom. She said it might be fun.

I cut off giving to the university after Bohn got undercut over Hawkins and Benson/Distefano made comments regarding CU football being occassionally competitive. I was pissed, what can I say.

I am now back on the bus and will donate $2M this year. I'll do the Buffs TV and merchandise thing too.

Thinking of buying Womans Basketball and Volleyball Season Tickets, I know that they wont be as enjoyable, nor will I probably go to enough games to make it worthwhile, but I have to show my support somehow.

I'm joining forces with the other 49 millionaires to raise that $50 mil.

I will attend every home game and renew my basketball season tickets. I will continue to keep the heat on Dan Hawkins from the very start of the season until he is gone.

I'm gonna win the Powerball jackpot, and whatever I don't blow on hookers in Vegas will go straight to the AD. :smile2:

But seriously, I've already re-upped my two season tix in Football, and will for Basketball as well. Wish I could do more but can't right now.

Damn. I'm a banker. The $2M (in banking world) stands for $2000, not $2 million (which would be $2MM). Sorry, but I only wish I had that kind of cash. Basically, I'll donate to get a small tax write off and help the school a tiny bit.

M = 1,000
MM = 1,000 thousands (or 1 million)

Does anyone use a single M to stand for a million?

Single M - Million
K - thousand

I don't know if this counts, but I'm planning on going on a lot more away games once pac-whatever conference play starts.

Great. I have now been publicly outed for being a poor bastard with nowhere near $ 2 million to donate.

Absolutely counts. We're all at different life stages and in different situations. For some people, buying a new CU PAC lid and wearing it around town is what they are able to do. And stuff like that makes a difference in the state and around the country.

I am happy we decided to upgrade our seats, add two spares, and get a better parking spot. I will continue to help athletics where I can, and when I can.

I also plan to get a few rounds of golf in at CU National!!!! Play golf and help support the Buffs, it doesn't get much better than that!!!!!

I always used the M = million, B = billion, and K= thousand.... but wtf do I know

Anyway - I don't have much money, but I may purchase from the school before the season starts when the prices are inflated :smile2:...I was just planning on purchasing them near gameday when they were cheap. I will also continue to purchase CU gear.

For the moment, things stay the same. I'd obviously shell out for season tix if that's something I could budget right now. Winning and a general agreement with the program's direction will get me to step my game up and consider season tickets, additional donations to the AD and more road trip opportunities. I'd ideally like to in my lifetime see CU play a road game in every Pac stadium. So I'm much more likely to contribute to road game fan attendance, in which I didn't much care to travel for a game in a town I didn't have a prior geographic affiliation to. That could have changed if the Buffs were having a national championship caliber season, but now I don't need that as an incentive because I'd love to check out a game in Seattle or Palo Alto versus this fall when I'll stay home because Norman and Lincoln just don't hold that appeal to me.

I bit the bullet and despite some awful financial situation, bought season tix to both football and basketball with the CSU game... which is about 30% more total than it was last year...

And I will be buying a new CU cap :smile2:

1. Already re-upped the football season tickets
2. Bought 8 tickets to the Cal game
3. Will probably trip to KU one last time
4. Will head to Vegas for the tourney over Thanksgiving & will watch the last CU/NU game in a sportsbook
5. Will get at least 2 season tickets to basketball
6. Will try to go to the last Big XII Basketball Tournament at the Sprint Center in KC

When on this board, I avoid using the "M" for a thousand, although that's technically what it means. If it's a million, I always use "MM". Lots of times in the newspaper, I'll see them say something like "so and so donated $15M to build a hospital". I know they aren't talking about $15,000.
