After 2011, no more Fuskers flocking to Folsom the day after Thanksgiving

I love the CU/nu game after Thanksgiving like everybody else, but I am looking forward to not dealing with the massive red exodus of cousin eddies descending on our beautiful stadium.

Funny! Who will replace us? Somebody needs to keep the money rolling into Boulder to provide some Christmas money.

Looks like the stadium might not then be filled to capacity from what I saw last year.

Seriously, it will be a big change not having the CU - NU game played the day after Thanksgiving as it has been.

The question is: What team do all the Buff fans want to play that day if you all had to choose?

Great pic LB. Makes me wonder if the fusker shops in Estes Park will slowly fade into nothingness.

Probably not. They weren't surviving from the income generated just one weekend a year. Those huskers walk amongst us, and they're not gonna stop wearing that husker gear just because they're in a different conference. The imagination of the nebraskan is such that they don't know how to dress themselves if it's not in red paraphanalia. I don't expect that to change.

I think CU won't be a Thanksgiving weekend staple after 2011. There's no one sensible to pair up against.

Not true! We will be a staple on Thanksgiving weekend and every weekend in beautiful HD on the PAC-X network.

Ummm no. Have you figured out your new rival yet? Ouchies indeed...it will probably be Texas.

I was thinking they would lean towards Indiana because they could pretend it is Oklahoma and bring back that old rivalry in their minds. They will also probably have similarly tough battles.

I think that while Nebraskans will continue to move into Colorado and set up shops to peddle polyester crap, their dumb little sign "Coloradans for Nebraska" will have to be burned.

I hate when they call themselves Coloradans, anyway. They are no more Coloradan than I am a Texan.

You know what? I"m going to miss those crazy turd mountain lovin' inbread Fuskers. God Bless them and God Bless America! I'm just glad for one shining moment today, the University that I bled for and sacrificed my orthopedic health, was relevant in the Machiavellian world of D-1 College Football. Well- played Mr. Bohn. Now let's crush the PAC-10 and whomever else they decide to let in. I, for one, have had about enough of the arrogant ramblings of those bovine idiots in the Lone Star State!

Hey Wyo!!!!! Glad to see ya! I see you are moved back to the lower 48. I am heading to Alaska next week!

No kidding? My folks are up there fishing this month! I am in B'ville doing my part for America's (non-offshore) energy independence ; ). When are we going bird hunting? Tell your better half that my boy attended the 6th - 9th grade camp in Norman last week and enjoyed it a lot. He'll be in Boulder next year as well as OU. Have fun in AK. The guys who work for me up there tell me it has been a warm and beautiful summer.

I will certainly pass all of that on! I was hoping for a chillier summer - it would be great to escape two weeks of heat and humidity. However, even if it gets to a hundred degrees, I am so looking forward to the whole experience of leaving UBT to fish and running amok to glaciers, the sea life center, and bear watching.

No it won't be Texas. I see it being Iowa. Fans from both teams have wanted a yearly game for a long time.

I see Texas maybe playing CU as CU's designated rival, with crap orange marker circled on the calendar marking the date, you know just like old times with Nebraska. Good luck being Bevo's whipping boy? Just imagine the site of Bevo and Buffy being stampeded out onto the field before the game starts. Anyone have a shovel? Bevo can't control himself when he runs very far.

Hey, I'm just haveing fun with this post. This conference realignment thing is getting to be nuts.

Any advice on how to deal with that? We don't have nearly the experience that you do.

LB: Record heat in AK = 80 degrees. I'd bring a sweater and rain gear, just in case. The Sea Life Center in Seward is pretty cool and the scenery is awesome on a clear day. Enjoy yourself. We are glad to be back in the lower-48 but really did enjoy our time in Alaska. Let me know if you guys are planning to get to Norman for the Buff game this year and the Wyo Buff family may have to make the trip from B'ville and join you!

Goody for the nubs. A rivalry of insignificance. As for the Horns, I believe they are spoken for already by another team rumored to be coming along.

Unless A&M goes insane (which they well could), the Thanksgiving rival for UT will continue to be A&M. Given the rest of the pairings of the Pac-10, CU will end up with Tech. That sucks but it's true.

Absolutely on my part. UBT has *promised* to stay home this Halloween. This in effect translates to he will provide short notification that he is going bird hunting that weekend. Which also translates to him owing me something awesome -- like picking up the tab for me and my friends at The Court of Two Sisters for my birthday celebration in New Orleans.

You sure that you aren't going to blast birds from the sky?

Yes, that sucks! No reason to even get up out of a warm bed to see such a game. But the stimulus money the Pac10 hands out is going to be worth being in the Pac10, I'm sure of it!

Maybe Oklahoma can fit the bill for the rival game on the day after Thanksgiving. Now that will seem like old times with all the red in Boulder for the game.

With any luck, we'll be playing Utah the last game of the season. Whether that's Thanksgiving weekend or not, I don't know. The Texass to the Pac rumors are still that - rumors. I still believe they'll pass because they won't have nearly the control over the Pac that they have over the B12.

I could see how you'd want to hide under the covers with the whole 70-10 thing. But Tech is actually a team that we routinely beat, so we'll probably wake up for that game.
