Man, the clips I saw of the NU presser and ours are night and day

A droning Dr. Tom and Perlman talking about how schools in the Big 12 were not being honest to them while in some dingy looking basement. It seemed like it was more about being wronged then moving onward and being excited. Granted this was just the clips I saw but it was completely opposite of the CU presser today. Our presser featured a spectacular view of the Flatirons and Folsom Field with the CU and Pac 10 Logos spinning behind the podium on the Jumbotron. Our AD was so excited he was tripping over his words and our new commissioner was ear to ear when talking about CU.

Maybe this was not NU's official presser.

What's more is that the Nebraska officials dress like they're from the '70s, with cheesy red sportcoats and bad ties. And of course, Osborne looks like a corpse. Come to think of it, all of NU's officials looked like they've been dead for a few years. Very stodgy. But I guess its a program full of mothballs lately.

Our press conference was hands down better. EVERYBODY was "Stoked" I love how we totally marketed our school with the Flatirons at the club level. The CU/Pac 10 logo was Awesome and we did it in a classy way. Even if it was a little cheesy I liked the regents enthusiasm. We mentioned the upside and the cultural fit and didn't blame anybody. There presser looked like it was in the basement of a community center and they sounded defeated. They blamed everybody else which was a total bush league move by them. If they want to blame us that's fine we all know it wasn't our fault but I'll take it as a badge of honor. ---- Going away from the CU presser you felt like the ground was swelling from the rumbling of Ralphie and the Buff nation. Going away from Nebraska you thought they were seeking shelter and food handouts because of a ****ty corn crop harvest.

I think they are aware that they are leaving a home where they were basically the top 1 or 2 teams in the conference for 50 years. They are now going to a new conference that has a very set power structure and they have to start out building a whole new power structure. Personally I think they will be fine, but it basically reflects the difference between Colorado and Nebraska. Colorado is enthusiastically embracing the change while NU is acting like they are being dragged into it.

To be fair to the fuskers, this was just the press conference announcing that they are applying for the B10, not the official "we're in the B10" press conference. I assume they'll have another press conference along with the B10 people at that time, and maybe it won't be quite so depressing.

Fixed. It sounds exciting.

I think one simple difference is CU will possibly be conference bretheren with a good portion of the b12 again. I was pleased to hear Bohn shirk off questions about problems with the b12, specifically Tejas. As much as I hate to admit it, TU becomes a huge draw as the Pac negotiates a new tv deal. Bohn was smart to take the high road.

Nebraska can sling as much poo as they wish. They'll never see the horns again.

This has been our ONLY good news in months. Of course we're going to be giddy. We also haven't been the target of as much hate from texass as Nebbie has. I thought they came out firing while giving the Horns a big "FU" on the way out.

Our regents voted to accept the invitation right before our press conference... The Tuesday vote was just to authorize Bohn to negotiate the invitation.... So you may be right... but we weren't stupid enough to have a pre officially in press conference at the actual meeting where things were decided. We massaged it. So ya, **** the fuskers.

The other thing is that CU has probably seriously wanted to be in the Pac-10 for a decade now. NU? I'd have to think they had no longings for the Big Ten until recently. Even with the growing pains of the Big 12, there never were any rumors about them in the Big 10 or wanting to be. I think NU to the Big Ten is a marriage of convenience: it nets the Big 10 a big name and a 12-team, two-division, title-game format while Nebraska escapes the state of Texas.

I'm betting in 10 years CU will still be in love with the Pac move. I think there's much more uncertainty with the NU/Big Ten move.

Ohio State and nebraska will be rivals quick. Igrew up in ohio with a family of ohio state alums and all my friends as buckeyes. They are just as obnoxious and arrogant as husker fans and ohio state has just as much tradition and loyal fans as ****braska.
