Unreal. Follow @ChipBrownOB, @ChrisLevel, @gkketch, @cbsdollarbill, @PeteThamelNYT to see what I've been seeing.
Not surprised at all. I along with others here, have been speculating UT wasn't going any where. They like being king of the hill, even if the hill is dung. If they went Pac 10 or B10 they are no longer the big fish, (i.e. USC, UM, tOSU). The B12 will be "saved". Everyone will line up for Bevo to service them as a price of the fealty to the Horns. I'm glad CU got out....
What I don't understand about this whole "Beebee Plan" business is how a TV deal could be renegotiated now when the Big 12 has years remaining on their current contract. If you're a network (and I know this has been discussed to some extent already), why would you want to pay more money for less product. The Big 12 is now down to 10 and can't play a championship game. I just don't see how Beebee could pull all of these additional millions of dollars out of his ass to entice the rest of the Big 12 south to stay. Anyone seeing anything I'm not?

I agree with this. The Big 12 has lost CU and Nebraska, both of which make up most of the market share in the North. They are also probably going to lose A&M as well. Three of the bigger schools... how do they magically get more money out of that? Also, what network is going to pay that type of money to broadcast Big 12 games when as I stated earlier three of the bigger schools will be gone? I think Texas might be able to pull $15-$17 million for itself, the rest of the conference no way in hell.
More like them servicing Bevo.
The only way I see those numbers working is if they're counting on splitting a lot of $$$ from the exit penalties of the other schools...
