2011 skeds

With the Nebs gone, wonder who will fill the rest of the once-Big 12's skeds in 2011? All kinds of crazy scenarios... Another foe from the remaining 11? An OOC?

Let the scramble begin.

Not an issue the Big 12 will cease to exist after 2010.

Exactly. We'll start the season with CSU in Denver, go to Hawaii for a game, and then host Fresno State.

Then we'll play 9 conference games against the Pac 16.

Wait. Is that right? I thought the move to the PAC wasn't until after the 2011 season? Guess I've lost track given all the back and forth. Who is the OOC opponent that gets the boot in the CSU-Hawaii-Fresno scenario?

The PAC-West Conference is going to a major power in CFB world. This will be a major boost to CU sports and once Hack is shown the door and we get a real coach CU will be making Nat'l headlines on winning side of the field again.

What happened was Nebraska pushed the Big 10 into moving things up a year so that they didn't have to go to Colorado, Texas and Missouri during their last year in the Big 12. With that timeline moved up, the Big 12 is broken and cannot function as a conference in 2011. Therefore, the Pac 16 will form a year ahead of schedule (Commissioner Larry Scott said at the CU-Pac presser today that they were prepared for that contingency).

The non-conference game that CU loses in 2011 is the return home game against Cal since they'll now be a conference opponent. I hope that they're going to need to do something to make that up to us.

If the Pac makes us wait until '12, we will be possibly independents for one year. Plati and Bohn could get creative with that schedule.

Here's an idea. The 11 remaining members of the B12 exact an exit penalty on Nebraska for leaving after 2010. Then vote to disband the conference in 2011 with no penalty for the teams going to the West Super Pac!

In the scenario that we start play in 2011, I think the Pac will do us right and give us Cal at home.

Dah: exclamation of sudden realization, usually followed immediately by a head slap.

Daaah: you

Baa-ram-ewe. Baa-ram-ewe. To your breed, your fleece, your clan be true. Sheep be true. Baa-ram-ewe

Fixed.

Dah

Daaah

Baa

I thought it all related. Sorry.

sigh.

Yeah, it's just that easy! There's always some junior Vince Lombardi around somewhere dreaming of leading CU football back to greatness, all we have to do is tap him. Being in a new conference takes care of everything else!

I remember these same arguments being made when the Big 12 was formed.

hmmm. troll much? Can we get a warning?

Yep, and CU football was ****ING AWESOME when the Big 12 was formed and we didn't exactly suck in the Big 12, winning 4 of 5 division titles. So your argument is sorry and so are you.

Aw, did I make you mad? Kill your Pac-10 buzz? What went wrong with Big 12 football and when did it go bad? Maybe when Texas beat us 70-to-****ing-three? Don't worry, if it goes sour in this league, we'll just move again!

Yep, I'm a panzie. Make the argument that CU felt joining the Big 12 was the rainbow road to greatness when we were rocking the **** late 80s through '96, well after the formation of the Big XII. Go ahead and back up your first post with arguments that CU would have been a better program by leaving the expanded Big 8 in '94. Also, we DIDN'T move from the Big 8, cocksuckers JOINED us. So, until now, we haven't moved in our lifetimes (unless you're really old). And I know damn well that 99% of the members on this board are excited about this, so why don't you go suck UT's **** like the rest of the Big Texass?

And, btw, using the term "aw" is unacceptable. I'm not your child or insubordinate. I'M A MAN, I'M 27 YEARS OLD! I'M A MAN!

I remember when the Big 12 was formed CU fans thought we'd clean up, inmprove the basketball program etc. etc. I see the same old **** with this move to the Pac-10. Meanwhile we have a brain-dead football coach that we can't seem to shake no basketball program to speak of and ZERO baseball. How will the Pac-10 improve this? Will more money translate into more wins? We made more dough in the Big 12 and went backward.

Not all CU fans are completely happy with this deal. Some of you would prefer to kiss California ass than Texas ass. I'd rather not kiss either.

Where did you want to go then?

I never thought I would find an opportunity to quote the movie Babe, but I thought this was as close as I would get.

Amazingly my mind when to the exact same place when I read Daaaah: you. I was with you.
