Another CU Player Suspended - 06/24/2010

who the **** is Silipo ?
how stupid !!

Fire Hawkins right now !!!
I thought having good little citizens who make the grades were the main reason Juicebox kept his job.

Does this free up a scholie for the new coach next year? EB will need room for all his new four and five star studs.

Can't say I've ever heard of this Guy and if he is that dumb to steal a bike then many others are deserving of taking his spot.

No squirrels were injured as a result of the theft.

Walk-on DT and Long Snapper from Cherry Creek via Northern Colorado. Not a scholarship player so if he gets kicked off he doesn't free anything up.

Just another case of a player who is not actually a key part of the team getting his name in the paper in a way that gives all the guys who aren't doing this crap a bad name.

Trouble is that enough of this stuff and in a place like Colorado, a lot of people choose to think that the whole program is represented by guys doing stuff like this. Some of it will always happen but it seems like Hawk has had a lot of it for a guy who is supposed to be doing things the right way.

I thought people from Cherry Creek could afford their own bikes.

Doesn't CU have, like, those "community" bikes all over the place? You know, the ones that you can just grab and ride wherever? Maybe he thought he was taking one of those. Or maybe not.

Isn't he the starting long snapper? If so, he WOULD be a key part of the team. Drescher was money so we never noticed him, but a bad long snapper can really hurt you.

I don't like the idea of having a 185 lb long snapper (Conte) stepping in if Silipo is gone.

the bike he took was a CU community bike, and he was "liberating" it with a piece of pipe from a locked spot....i doubt there was much misunderstanding involved. the bikes are orange, you see them everywhere....in fact, many of the football players on campus for summer sessions are riding them around so i don't think the arrangements for use were foreign to young Joe. you pay a deposit and a small fee....and take the bikes whenever you want.

Yes, we lost Justin Drescher to graduation and the NFL most likely. The other LS we had was Bisenow (the dude who embarrased CU on American Idle (sic) ).

When snaps shoot 5 feet over our punter;s head, we'll miss our long snapper.

Luckily our special teams have been pretty good the last few seasons so we can afford this loss.

Yep, I'm waiting for Woelk to all lecture us on how Hawk does things the "right way" .. His program is a ****ing joke.

Bad enough we've had 4 straight losing seasons, montana state, toledo and losing to csu at home but now we have just as many transfers, suspensions even though the excuse was "we are doing things the right way". The foundation hawk has built is made out of marshmellows filled with hot air.

Maybe Dan is taking the wrong approach here. Maybe they should work with the players on how to commit crimes and actually get away with them. Maybe it isn't that some of these guys are doing stuff. Its that they are getting caught!

I agree, time to learn how to get away with it.

Does this mean that his accountability group gets last pick on the juiceboxes? Only grape left, yuk!

Could be worse - we could have a player do something like this and NOT get suspended (Nebraska et. al)
