Went to a buddy's going away party to ARMY basic training the other day and like usual we started talking football. I asked him what he thought about NU joining the Big 10, and he laughed and said, "Cakewalk!"

Ya, I'm sure Ohio st will be a cakewalk for ya!

And the Big 12 North hasn't been a cakewalk? The Norte has definitely been the weakest BCS division in recent memory. Sure, we've had a #1/#2 matchup in KU vs MU, but that's been the highlight of the division since we put on a beatdown on the Fuskers in 01.

how many conf championship games did NU play in, in the 00's? 3 of 10?

Cakewalk? Regardless of how they end up splitting the conference it will be significantly harder than the north is now. Not to mention that NU loses virtually their entire offense, a huge chunk of the defensive starters, and the best kicker they've ever had at the school for next season. I wouldn't be surprised to see 3-4 in conference losses in the 1st season.

He's arrogant, but funny. He had a license plate on his old truck that said NU Owns colorado. He now has that plate in his husker collection. He hates CU with a passion it's funny!

How can you predict a season away when you have no idea who is staying, going, leaves, or gets injured?

Nebraska has so many senior starters this year it's not even funny. The only junior I'd see going pro is Jared Crick, but you never know. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that none of those seniors gets injured bad enough to gain a medical redshirt and come back, but those are the breaks.

QB- Lee- Sr.
RB- Helu- Sr.
WR- Niles Paul, Mike McNeil- Srs.
OL- Keith Williams, D.J. Jones, Ricky Henry- Srs.
TE- Dreu Young- Sr.
DE- Pierre Allen- Sr.
DB- Prince Amukamra, DeJon Gomes, Eric Hagg, Anthony West, Rickey Thenarse- Srs.
K- Adi Kunalic, Alex Henery- Srs.

Every one of these guys is either a full time starter or will see significant playing time. That's a lot to lose.

Hey, give the guy a break! He was just being optimistic (maybe overly so) about Nebraska's venture into the Big Ten. Cakewalk? Probably not by any stretch of the imagination. I will venture to say the first few seasons in the Big Ten for the Huskers will be successful for them. Probably more so then what the Buffs will experience in the 12-Pac. Each school has the right to drink a little to much Koolaid over their Conference switch.

Good Luck in the 12-Pac! Which ever season that turns out to be.

Well, if we are going to recruit full classes every year, someone has to graduate to free up space. Luckily the cupboard is full enough that many underclassmen will play ample minutes. Biggest losses on that list are henery and Hagg. All the others are pretty replaceable with existing guys.

Holy crap! You guys come crawling out of the woodwork whenever anything fusker is mentioned.

All things considered, playing the B10 will be easier than the Big 12 was. No OU, no UT, and no Mizzou/KU/KSU/CU combo that all hates your guts and wants nothing more than to beat your brains in every year. At this stage of the game, the only team that's worth a damn in the B10 is Ohio State. Maybe Penn State. Other than them, everybody else is pretty average. I'd be optimistic if I were a niblet fan, too.

I agree, but to be calling it a "cakewalk"? I woudl say Wisconsin and Iowa are pretty good too. Iowa has won a couple BCS bowls recently.
