Good morning AB'ers, and a good morning it is because....

COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

:slayer: :woot: :gobuffs:

Tonight's significant TV games:
Southern Miss at South Carolina, 7:30, ESPN
Marshall at Ohio State, 7:30, BTN
Pitt at Utah, 8:30, Versus
Southern Cal at Hawaii, 11:00, ESPN

A couple pretty decent games for a Thursday night. I find myself very interested in the games involving CU's new conference brethren, but I am also interested in the South Carolina game, to see if Spurrier finally does something with his club.

It will be a nice night of football watching, to be sure.

South Carolina is a team that's been trying to break thru and into a contender in the SEC but they keep hovering around mediocrity under Spurrier. It won't take long to find out where they stand because tonight's game is no cakewalk and next week they host Georgia.

I can physically feel it in the air. The air is a little crisper. The mornings a little cooler. You can sense the trees are getting ready for their long nap. There is just this physical, or is it metaphysical, change that happens when August fades into September.

Man, I almost shed a tear writing that.

A little cooler? I froze my ass this morning on the way to the gym. Time to put the top on the Jeep.

Going to do my best to stay up for the U$C-Hawaii game, but have a feeling I'll only get through the 1st quarter...
Looking forward to the Pitt-Ute game though.

Just purchased and set up a second 19" TV next to the 50" at lunch today in preparation for college football season. 3.5 hours until work ends, and I have tomorrow off.... time is going so slow can't wait.

Maybe we should do the game watches at your place...

You got me wondering so I looked it up, tiny college (1200 students) in the upstate area of South Carolina, near the Greenville/Spartanburg area. They are I-AA and a member of the Big South conference.

Sound like a real powerhouse, I also looked them up and they do have one of the strangest nicknames in sports: The Blue Hose

South Carolina has some big receivers and they giving USM fits. I didn't realize that the Gamecocks landed the top RB recruit in the country, Marcus Lattimore, and he's looked the part for the most part so far.

I'm guessing that is a classy way of saying "blue socks". . . . or possibly a bruised male member.

I meant to answer the question, guess I should've cut and pasted what it was so you didn't have click on the link.

A Blue Hose is a fierce Scottish warrior. If you have ever seen the movie Braveheart, you have seen a true Blue Hose.

I hadn't really been into it much until today, but it's great to have college football back!
