My buddy just put 20K on csu covering

Your "buddy" is a ****ing IDOT! Wow, $20K down the drain just like that. Crazy. How can that guy just throw $20K in the **** can like that? Here is to a, at the very least, two touchdown win. **** your buddy.

Why would I hope he wins a bet that went against CU?

If he loses, he can suck it. And if CSU wins the game, he better not be happy.

you guys do realize he can win even if the buffs win. 12.5 spread.

Don't care. There's a reason I don't bet on the Buffs. I care too much about the outcome and I don't want the money to skew how I look at it. Best thing for Buffs would be the kind of score that makes people go "hmmm" and does the most for getting us back into the Top 25 this season.

I hope your friend's decision doesn't make it so that you wouldn't be able to be 100% happy with 55-10 win.

not my money so i would much rather have a 55-10 blowout, but watching him sweat would be pretty funny.

Rule #1 about betting football games.

Bet with your head not your heart.

Rule #2 is see rule #1

I have made $$$ by betting against the Huskers, money really does not have a favorite team

Well looking the past ten years, how many times has CU beaten CSU by over 12 points? Twice?

Gamblers make their money betting the underdogs, not the favorites. Its not a crazy bet.

Anyone laying 20k on a college football game has a gambling problem. Poker is also gambling.

Why does the nominal amount imply a gambling problem? And does anyone who plays poker/gambles in other forms for a living have a gambling problem in your view?

Underdogs tend to be undervalued against the spread, favorites tend to be undervalued on the moneyline.

Totally agree. If he bet 20k, only has 21k, and his kid needs a kindey transplant he has a gambling problem. But we didn't hear any of that. The amount gives no indication on whether he has an issue or not without context

He should just withdraw that money from the bank in cash, unzip his pants and piss on it. From the trustworthy articles I read in the Camera this morning, we are going to demolish little brother!

Don't get me wrong. I love poker. And blackjack, too. I see it as a form of entertainment.

But a 20-something laying 20k on a football game? That goes a bit beyond recreational fun, IMO. If you disagree, that's great. Not gonna change my mind.

I knew guys like that in college. Gambled all the time, threw cash around all the time. One week they were rolling in dough, the next they were broke. That's how a large portion of the professional poker players are, too. Easy come, easy go. Scotty Nguyen won the WSOP main event and was broke a week later. He gambled it away playing craps. Mike Matusow has famously been broke a few times in the past 3-4 years.

Maybe he's different, but I doubt it.
