If you thought CSU had more instate kids on the roster than CU, you'd be wrong.

Colorado has more instate kids than CSU.

If you thought Colorado had more Texans on the roster than CSU, you'd be wrong again, by a factor of 3:1.

Over half of CSU's roster comes from California, Florida or Texas. These three states make up a little over a third of CU's roster.

In summary, CSU has dropped the title of being the home town school. In 2010, Fairchild is depending on California, Texas and Florida to carry the program. CSU has tied their fortunes to more out of state kids than has Colorado.

One of those years we signed like 8 instate kids and they signed 1. At somepoint the players are going to care a little less. If this stays the first game of the season, then maybe they will still get as amped up as they do now, but put this as the 3rd game, and I bet we would roll them way more often.

Next season you will get your wish...3rd game

there is a reason.. Colorado HS talent level isnt there obviously. why go for the 2* and 3* kids in colorado when the 2* and 3* kids from FL and Tx are generally speaking more talented.... hell, im a colorado guy, but look at Rivals and Scout.. there is a reason we have recruited FL and TX heavily.. it isnt because CSU doesnt like colorado kids. Our recruiting ranked higher then CU last year, a year heavily signed TX and FL kids. Hope things change, but you go to where the talent is, you dont make due with kids just because they are local. you grab what you can local wise(Brewer, Burl, Knoke..etc) but if a 3* or 4* out of state wants to play, you grab him.

with the addition of paul richardson we have the better class, and it still is poor by cu standards.

I hear on one hand how CSU isnt in the same class as CU, the program isnt the same caliber...

then I hear that "wow, your class ranked as high as a team who was 3-9 went.. congrats lol"...

you cant have it both ways

All your football talk is fine and dandy. CU has been explaining this for years.

But to Joe Sixpack and the casual front range resident, the tendency is to cheer for the home team. CU wins the homer award this year.

So enjoy your air plane and it's CU Sucks-Go CSU banner. And enjoy being the team that is (relatively) less interested in home grown talent.

Those are two different things. CSU isn't in the same class as CU. It doesn't have the facilities, the history, the athletes, the funding, the league affiliation or the fan following.

The fact that CU does have those things doesn't mean that their head football coach isn't a complete moron incapable of preparing his club for the likes of CSU & Toledo. hawkins craptastic coaching is what lead to the sub-par recruiting. And even thought the class he put together was entirely mediocre, when you look at average stars and rankings with Clemons and Richardson added to the class, CU is STILL higher. Now how does that make you feel?

Does this constitute a promise to come back tomorrow evening, no matter the outcome?

He would be singing a different song if guys like Ryan Miller, Nick Kasa and Jon Major had given CSU a second glance.

Not all the Colorado kids on CU's roster are of the 2-3 star variety.

sure thing. I hold up my ends of deals.. I can eat crow if you can

So here's the wager. You change your name to Alfalfa, pay the $15 bucks to Allbuffs, and live with the alfalfa avatar for a month if CSU loses.

If CSU wins, I'll put up the nasty tighty whitey picture you enjoyed researching for a month.

Deal?

You are benefitting from the entertainment value of the site. You'd get access to the arcade and other mysterious features only known to Allbuffs members.

By now, you realize how inferior Ramnation is in comparison. And you don't even have access to the full site.

Don't be such a chinz.

Tell you what...if CSU wins, I'll pay your Allbuffs membership for you.

That deal is the suxor, and a chicken **** offer. We're going to want you around and toy with you.

The entertainment value comes from having you hang around so we can mock you.

I actually am concerned by the number of local kids. The talent base instate is better than it used to be and we should always have our pick of the best. But if we want to be nationally relevant again we need bluechips and that usually means we have to hit cal and Tex hard.

As for alfalfa, he will be back for 400 posts if they win and 1 or2 if they lose. That's troll 101.

What I didn't mention in the opening is that CU has 28 Californians versus the 18 at CSewe. We got them beat in California, which is great given our new Pac-10 conference alignment.

CU = 36:64 Instate/OOS. 21 states & 1 Canadian provence.
CSU = 35:65. 13 states & Nebraska.

The lammies are so focused on Florida that they ought to petition to join Florida International in the SunBelt conference, just so the families and friends of a big chunk of their team can watch them play. If TCU bolts from the MWC, it'll be even tougher for CSU to justify recruiting in Texas.

CU should be able to out-recruit CSU every single year, and beat them every year on the field. The fact that we're even having this conversation shows how far the program has fallen in recent years.
