Enjoyed The Win But Going For 2 Was Once Again STUPID

Keep in mind that if Colorado had not converted the 2 point conversion the game
may have gone to overtime. CU wins despite their coach. Good for the players.

You'd think he'd take the points with the kicker he uses in 50 plus range
That fg try was a bad decision but that entire drive was killed by that stupid pass play on first down that lost 4 yds. You have guys like clemons ,richardson and patterson and they acted afraid to throw the ball downfield. Thought watson was up in the booth.

Isn't that extra point set up designed to give Cody the option to go for 2 if he sees a matchup he likes? If he doesn't get the matchup, he checks to the kick. Not that it makes alot of sense in that situation... but I'll take it.

Here we go again....

just pointing out that Simple Jack is still making some bad decisions that could have easily cost CU the game- the players played their asses off and I'm so glad that stupid coaching didn't cost the Buffs the win-

It was a good call, it worked. We won, don't know why you're complainining. Until it doesn't work you shouldn't complain, but so far you have complained on two straight plays that have been successful.

I feel the need to expand on the stupidity here. So, 20-24, go for two. Stupid, but ok. Now it's 22-24. Score a touchdown, 28-24, up by 4, what do you do? Going for one is brain dead. 28-24 or 29-24 is completely irrelevant. I was convinced until the end of the game that we would lose because of that.

If you're going to be a maverick and go for two the first time, you have to go for two the second time. I am grateful that CU won and if Hawkins continues to win, I'll be a very happy Buff fan. But you're going to have a hard time convincing me he's got a clue.

That was also a huge turning point in momentum in the stadium. That got our crowd into it and really loud for the 2nd half. The players also had a little more swagger after making it. Now I understand it's a different game if we don't make it, but I can respect Hawk a little more for having the guts to make calls and taking risks. Do I still want him fired yes, but he is starting to look a little more like coach that came from Boise.

So that extra point we got made Georgia fumble?

I agree. It made no ****ing sense but it worked so I can't get worked up about it.

Sure why the hell not

When you watched King's expression during the fumble it is one of bewilderment. At first I assumed it was panic as he lost control of the ball, but now I realize he was thinking, "why the **** did they go for two back then???" and then just fumbled in amazement.

no. according to hawk's postgame interview, it was the fact that our players don't get arrested and go to class that caused georgia to fumble

I missed the post game interview, but I'm for our players being quality people. I don't see how you can rip on them for doing good things in the community. Especially after a win.

i'm not ripping the players. i'm ripping hawkins for giving a stupid ****ing answer in regards to why they won the game

fair to very fair. i'd argue.... you know where i'm going so i'll just leave it out.

Disagree with the call. Disagreed with going for 2 against Hawaii. It worked both times so I can't bitch.

Going for 2 was some Boise sh1t right there - I'm just fine w/ it

For those of you that think it was a good call are ONLY basing that on the result and nothing else. It was a dumb decision that worked out in his favor. The field goal was a dumb decision that really did not work out in his favor until the fumble occured.....

Hawk is a terrible D-1 college coach. CU won despite him.

i just would have liked to have seen the dang play. way to go FSN. they didn't even TRY to show a replay. they just took the fail on the chin and showed UGA's TD from 5 minutes earlier in the quarter.

yep, it was good because it worked. If it would have failed it would have been bad. Something thats worked 2 times in a row=not a dumb decision IMO. Fail it and yes I will talk.

I don't see how it worked out in his favor. If we would have kicked the PAT (a much higher percentage gamble) we would have won by a point. If we'd failed to convert the two points (a fairly high risk proposition) we'd have gone into overtime, if the rest of the game had progressed the same.

How did it work out? It was an unnecessary gamble.

The point is that there was no upside to doing it in that situation, but a lot of downside.

It was definitely a stupid call.

The worst part of the successful 2 point conversion was the predictability of threads like this one.

Exactly. I mean, most of us want hawk fired and have bitched and complained at nauseum over this coach but christ, can we actually enjoy a win for one god damn day after 4 years of ****?
