I just snapped this random pic to record the students happily rushing the field, but found an unexpected moment was captured when I looked at it this morning.

Check it out.

I am sorry... but that was EMBARASSING.. rush the field against a 1-3 team???? The National CBS Broadcasters had some fun at our expense.... and then all of my Florida fans texted me as soon as they showed that on TV during the Bama- Fla game....

Well, I don't care. Make it a CU tradition. It was thrilling to see the students that involved with the game and showing our guys SOME LOVE!
Look at the little kid - he'll remember high-fiving BJ for a long time. Great moment, IMO.

I am just not working up a sweat about what some rival fans think of our students. They show up at the last minute or late, but when we win, they know how to celebrate, so I'm down with that. Let 'em. If we keep winning, and they keep storming the field, I will never criticize the students for wanting to be part of it. It's their thing and the players enjoyed it.

I was embarrased, but at the same time, since CU had met my pre season win total-- in September, I guess I can justify......well, no, I cannot. It made us look stupid. We beat a 1-3 team and rushed the field. Looks like that we need to train the kids, or get used to the fact that they will do this for every opponent we have at home. If that is the cost of having a full stadium and a blackout, then I guess I will take it. (and a win of course. If they start rushing the field after losses then I have to find a new team.)

Like it or not, get used to it. I think it's a new tradition for the fans. They don't tear down the goalposts, they simply go celebrate with the team. We have some rabid students. I myself have mixed emotions about it, but expect it. We will rush if we beat Baylor too.

How about caring what the alumni think of our students? We, for the most part, think the students look ridiculous rushing the field after every win. It really isn't going to take very long for one of these drunk asses to hurt themselves, someone around them, or a player by running out on the field and acting like an idiot. It will quickly no longer be enough to just run on the field to be with the team, so they'll have to up the ante to tearing up pieces of turf or stealing other pieces of equipment to prove they were on the field.

It is just so freaking bush league. I understand that we haven't had much success in recent years, but I don't think you see other teams in similar situations rushing the field all the time. Justify it all you want, but it makes us a laughing stock to the rest of the college football fans in the nation.

:congrats:

Nope, I think having the current students participate is fine with me.

They are showing enthusiasm and I say just let it be our ridiculous tradition. I am an alum and I don't care if they rush the field.
In the big scheme of things, it's not even a pebble on my path.

Gonna be just a ridiculous tradition when one of our players gets his knee rolled by some stumbling drunk and is lost for the season?

**** the rest of the college football fans. Life is short. Have some fun. At least CU has a mobile fan base. I watched some sec football and those lardboys would be physically unable to rush the field.

Put razor wire around the railing or maybe an electric fence, no just tear gas them all if they jump on the field, that ought to stop the hooligans.

Dood, they play football. They are already at risk at practice and games, and could easily fall down the stairs on the way out of sociology class looking at a pretty coed. Yes, a fan could get hurt and so could a player. But it is what it is ... and the students' excitement was contagious. I bet the recruits enjoyed the hell out of the game.

Anyway, didn't mean to start a thread about the CU students doing another thing we chastise them for. I just got a chuckle out of capturing the moment with BJ Beatty and some excited little kid. Didn't know it was in the shot, but summed up the game perfectly for me.

HIGH FIVE TO THE BUFFS! We are proud of you guys.

I feel really bad for this current generation of students. I can't blame them for getting excited about a win. Hell, I almost had more wins to celebrate in my freshman year alone than some of our current seniors have been able to celebrate in their ENTIRE TIME AT CU. So ya, enjoy it. Maybe they will be fans afterwards instead of apathetic haters. Cause quite a few recent graduates do not like CU all that much cause we've been so bad.

That said... ya, that was retarded. Oh well, it was fun.

When has that ever happened? Fans have rushed the field at many schools for many many many years and I have never heard of that. I guess it could happen, just never heard of it. And a lot of fields have been rushed.

I'm an Alumn, I was there from 92-96 and we kicked ass, we didnt rush the field unless we were winning the Heisman, or beating a Top 3 team when we were underdogs, BUT that was a much different time. We expected to win, and now we are lucky if we do win.
SOOOO, let the students, fan, and the teams have fun with it. I dont care, let them rush the field all they want. Perhaps someday we'll get back to the days when we are expecting to win and only rush the field when National Championships implications are at stake BUT for now, we're not there and so any vicitory is a good one. Let them enjoy it!!

Fire Hackins, but let the team have fun.

I don't mind them rushing the field. This is their thing.
When I was a student we used to have huge cup wars at half time (those are gone now) and a dozen other silly things that only the students did and many alumns thought childish or lacking good decorum. Each generation of students evolves their own traditions and it really doesn't matter (within reason) what us "old alumns" think because it is the student's magical time with CU football and that takes precedence, in my opinion, over our traditions.

SJBuff I too was around for the "cup wars". You made me smile when you brought them up. My buddy and I were talking about them during the Georgia game. We both commented on how the current student body is so mellow, but much more into the game, compared to when we were in school and winning almost every game. If they want to rush the field as their big crazy thing, then let them! I do wish they would learn the wave should be done only when the other team has the ball though...it was a bit annoying to see it starting when our offense had the ball.

Great pic AJ.

I don't mind rushing the field when CU beats a top team like oklahoma but not 1-3 teams, cu was getting laughed at all over the country, maybe it doesn't bother some people, to each their own.

I'd rather get laughed at for rushing the field, than getting blown out 58-0 or 70-3. But maybe that's just me.

What the pic doesn't capture is that BJ screamed powder blue !!??? and beat the kid with his helmet.

This is getting like the 5th down, WE DO IT, THE STUDENTS LOVE IT, DEAL WITH IT!!!

Jocularity! Jocularity!

I believe that this is a picture of a real life Max telling Beatty "to roar his terrible roar, and gnash his terrible teeth!!!!"

I can't believe fans are embarrassed that CU does this. it's awesome, I hope it become a new CU tradition.
