Anyone with Directv also have this problem? It was blacked out on Fox Sports Rocky Mtn... but was on every other Fox Sports channel on the dish...

anyone know why?

Yes, I posted this in a couple of other threads, and what's odd is that all the other FSN regionals that were carrying the game weren't blacked out. I switched over to FSNRM right before the game and caught the end of the Buffalo Stampede, then a couple of minutes it later it goes off the air. I'm like, what the ****?!?? At least the couple of others I checked weren't. I have no idea what this was all about.

i think its like that big 12 basketball crap... where they block it outside the state on the certain channel...but since i t was available on the other channels no harm no foul

the only reason that makes sense is that the game wasn't sold out maybe?

The Big 12 basketball blackouts only happen when ESPN GamePlan picks up the game. If it's not a GamePlan game, then the b-ball game is on FSNRM.

I have never had this problem before... have you?

I'd suspect that since it was a kind of limited national game, there was a game in your area that superceded it. A "no competition" thing.

But they've never done that before, and there's been a number of CU games in the past that have been on every or almost every FSN regional. Besides, if this were the case, then why was it still on FSN Southwest and FS Ohio?

Fox and Dish are fighting over a contract renewal for out of region viewing of the Fox regionals. Fox wants to jump the cost per viewer by a pretty big margin (Dish says close to 100%,) Dish has historically fought hard against virtually any cost increase as their biggest selling point is lowere prices on service. Dish has dumped channels completely that tried to keep a hard line on a rate increase (Gol for example) while they are aware that in most cases the channels lose a lot of revenue on advertising without the large number of Dish homes.

Because this is a conflict about out of region viewing and not in region Dish had to shut off out of region viewers. With as complex as the regional coverage is the obviously messed up in a number of cases.

This one will probably be settled fairly soon.

The bad part for me was I was recording it and lost the first part of the game until I checked to see if it was recording.

it was blocked on DIRECTV... not dish network... unless you are saying that it is all dishes.....

it made no sense to me because I got the game on another Fox Sports Channel....

also, it was listed ion Philadelphia as being shown on my comcast sports channel and it was blacked out....

I am not getting these arbitrary blackouts... I pay for a channel... unless it is apart of a "sports exclusive package" (that I could also buy), then it shouldnt be blocked....

Alot of the east coast did not get a chance to see the Oregon Stanford game if they had a satellite dish.... bizarre... but u actually needed comcast in our area for 2 separate ESPN2 channels so you could watch it....

Can't comment on DirectTV. There was a lot of discussion before the game about the Dish situation. Turned out that certain channels were blocked, others got "missed" so a lot of the country that would have seen it saw it anyways, just on a different channel number.

I think it was related to the dishnetwork thing. For some odd reason, dish still has access to fsrm, in fact "gave" it to all dish customers who complained about the fox issue (they "gave" us the sports package, which is pretty much worthless with almost everything blacked out) - but the live programming is blocked out too on fsrm. fox worked hard to screw dish out of this game, and blacked it out on all the remaining feeds such as the comcast sports channels that normally would have got it. So, I'm guessing they inadvertently just blacked it out of all the fsrm feeds.

I was at a wedding in denver that had a directtv setup in next to the bar (woot the bride being a CU grad and being awesome) and it came through just fine, not blackout problems whatsoever.

I got the game on Dish here in Denver. I still get FSRM, which is not part of the current pissing contest between Dish and Fox.

The first bar I went to seemed like they'd have it, but when they turned to that channel (there were three separate channels) it was some home shopping network thing selling rings. So I got up, walked down the block to the next bar and they had it. I dunno what the problem was at the first place. Probably one had dish and the other cable, dunno. I'm just happy I was able to catch the game.

I have DirecTV and watched the game today on my DVR and I had it set with FSNRM

Hmm, so it sounds like FSNRM wasn't blacked out on DTV if you live in the Denver area. But that still doesn't explain why it was blacked out for those of us out of state, yet all the other FSN's had the game.

It is biazarre... I may call and ask... I wasn't pissed because I saw the game in HD on one channel up.... but very weird.... Maybe the same thing will happen with Mizzou....

In 5 yrs of me watching the BUFFS on FSNRM on DirecTV that hasnt happened to me before. I dont know why they would be doing that now?

Same thing happened to me in Vegas with DirecTV. FSRM was blacked out but I could get it on a bunch of the other regional channels. They also started the game on Prime (FSW2) at 8:00 because of baseball and horse racing. Not sure what's going to happen for the Missouri game.
