Will Jeff at RB - should've been there at start? - I'm confused

Started a new thread b/c I didn't want to post in the Farrow thread since those are supposed to be about recruits only if I remember the rules right.

Anyway, reading Farrow's stats (5'9", 190) it looks like he has similar size as Will Jeff (5'9" 190.) 'Nik then goes on to say that if we get Farrow, he would be second in size to Cordary Allen.

As Will Jeff played RB in HS, with his size and our small backs, what was he doing at WR? The assumptions here are that (1) we were thin at WR, and (2) were fat (figuratively) at RB before we lost DS, Sumler, and Lockridge.

I don't know, probably a useless thread, I guess I'm just confused at what this coaching staff is doing. Also noticed in the Denver Post article/blog where it says WillJeff was told he was being moved to RB which contradicts one of D-II's statements where he said WJ came to staff and asked to be moved to RB.

I don't get it anymore. I really don't. Sorry for the ramble.

I don't know about the rest of it, but that's a standard Hawk tactic. Take something that is his idea and tell the media it was the kid's idea. I don't know why he does this because it usually bites him in the ass at some point down the road.

It's not that confusing. We were extraordinarily thin at WR and he proved he could play there early. But he's built like a TB, I've always thought that, he's played there in HS, and wow now we are in trouble for depth there. Simple.
Now we'll see if it works.

Wait, so Hawk actually did come out and say this move was WillJeff's idea?

I'm shocked. Totally shocked that Danny would make such a statement. It's so out of character for him.

Surprised me too. Who knew? :rofl2::pissed::cry:

I'm so sick of everyone second guessing everything the coaches are doing. Why don't people just let the coaches coach.

Almost beer-thirty on Friday....Wahoo

That's what we tried for the last 4 years. It got us an average of 4 wins per year.

navy,

If you remember when Will Jeff came in, we had just had Josh Smith transfer over the summer, Will Blackmon had left after the 2008 season, Andre Simmons didn't look like he would qualify in time, Kendrick Celestine had left during the 2008 season, Toney Clemons and Kyle Cefalo were redshirting due to the transfer rules, and Markques Simas was suspended for the 1st 2 games.

We were a bit thin and desperate at WR.
