Hawkins losing it

Maybe Hawkins will resign pretty soon...you have to wonder what exactly is killing him.

The losing.
The CU fans.
Watching his son play in vain.
The pressure.

"he sounded like he wanted to be anywhere but there"

Strange, we want him to be anywhere but here.

I can agree with one sentiment expressed in the article. I too wish DH was anywhere but here....

I hope that people start realizing that he is not a standup guy. He has not been successful here but continues to keep doing the same things over and over with no real change. He has quit wearing his Buff gear to his weekly press conference, he no longer closes with go Buffs, he ignored reporters after the TT game, now he is being a jerk on the Big 12 conference call. He has done nothing for the CU program. He cannot leave fast enough.

But, but, but he's about doing things the right way, he's about the whole deal and the whole life experience....when the rubber meets the road, you see all that is bunk, Dan is about Dan and everyone else can go jump in the lake.....

No coach can be enjoying the lack of success he has had. I dont really see anything else for him to do, this is a lost cause. Either resignation or temination.

He can't say anything that will please anyone at this point. Plus people are ripping on his kid. I'd be short too.

I don't think he will resign. Signing would be to admit he failed or that he could not get the job done. He would never do that, he is too much of an egomaniac.

I thi he is positioning himself to get fired. He gets paid the same either way.

It would be nice if I could think of a single thing to argue with you about here. Unfortunately, all I can do is add to it. Hawkins also did things like taking down inspirational sayings from the locker room, failing to show up at Buffs4Life and other events designed to connect with generations of Buffs, made the "burned to the ground" comments and also disrespected GB by often referring to him as the previous coach instead of by name.

Hawkins came in acting like CU football didn't exist before he got here, or at least that what did exist was in the past and he was going to completely overhaul the culture to do things the Hawk Love way. To him there was CU Football BH (Before Hawkins) and AH (After Hawkins). It was disrespectful to all the coaches, staffers, players, and fans of Buff football. Hell, Misti wore red to the introductory press conference. He never got it and he'll never understand why we never fully embraced him. Well, he demonstrated he had little concern for our past or traditions and he was going to show us a better way. You do that, you better win and win big.

We were fans of CU long before Dan Hawkins walked through the door and we'll be fans when he's a bad memory our grandchildren ask about. **** him.

He knows it is over and is just filling space and the airwaves until the axe falls. I believe it will be next week after the OU trouncing we are about to receive. Either way, he is checked out. I do not know if Dan is a stand up guy or not, but I will tell you I wished he had been the answer he has not been. Too bad.

Maybe Im wrong about this but it's just mho. I dont see any possible good for keeping him around for the rest of the year. I wouldnt be opposed to firing him right now. I know its a difficult thing to do during the season but we need to cut our losses and move on.

I don't think any of us would be opposed to firing him now. In fact, that's exactly what we want.

I honestly think it's our best move. Name an interim and actually do a damn coaching search this time. I dont mean like 3 guys, we need to cast a wide net and get the right guy for the program.

I think that we get killed by OU with him or without him. Best thing to do is let him take his beating at the hands of the Sooners, then remove him and let Cabral, Keisau, or ? take over as the interm with an opponent ahead that gives the possiblity of a positive showing, start building a little good feeling again.

As importantly, this lets the election pressure pass and doesn't lead to Hawkins buyout becoming a political issue even though it would be (gladly) paid by donations from boosters, not university funds.

It has to be painful for Dan and his family to be in this position. Wouldn't it be an act of kindness to relieve him of the bull**** he will face for the rest of the season? Have a heart, Mr. Bohn.

Part of me thinks we owe it to Cabral to give the "Interim HC" thing on his resume. He's probably moving on and it would be appropriate if he was in a better position to get a HC job at a smaller school.

You can't shut the guy up after wins. Funny how that works.

He hasn't had enough opportunity to get everything said that he wants to. A few more wins and maybe he would have less to say and we would be more interested in hearing it.

Maybe, just maybe if he held himself accountable just once after a loss it might smooth things over for 5 minutes. But no, it's always some lame rah-rah speech and 'they made one more play" BS. He doesn't get it and never will. He never says he or his staff need to do better EVER.

Damn it, ladies and gents.

This is a John Henderson article and nobody said a peep up till now.

JH might be right, but he hasn't earned the credibility and respect that comes with being a fair and balanced reporter.

I wish John Henderson was anywhere but here, too.

:yeahthat:

This has been what has angered me most about him outside of the losses. A LOT of the heat on him at least starting last year when things really went south could have been lessened if he had come out to the fanbase and said that this was unacceptable and he took responsibility for it and would work harder. Heck if he had said that and believed it, maybe he wouldn't be in this position.

If he did exactly what Mac Brown is doing right now last year, he may have gained a little respect back from me. Nothing he could do this year to make up for the aside from a 9-10 game season.

I guess unleash hell's HOMERUN HIRE posts of 5 years ago were a foul ball. That guy really tells it like it ain't!!

Lately when I've heard Hawkins talk or read what he's said, especially after this last game, I have the gut feeling he's been told he's gone after this season and there is no way to change that fact.
