I THINK Hawks been fired...

we'll see (no pun intended). Not going to get into it but I get that impression strongly! Not an insider or any of that ****. Anyhow, going to be interesting...

My vegas guess is that if they don't announce it today, then it will be early next week after the OU route. I also think now that Hansen is out and Cody is our guy, Mac won't step in as the interim coach - too weird to have the former coaches son as your starting qb. I think they name Cabral interim coach and we go 5-7 or MAYBE 6-6.

poster on Rivals says rumors have either filtered down to players (tail wagging the dog) or a fire could be found among all the smoke....

there's rumors that all ADs were in Boulder yesterday...

White Buffalo (a former player... don't know who) posted late last night on Netbuffs that Mac was interviewed yesterday

Hawk was a jerk in yesterdays Big 12 phone press conference

today IS Tuesday ... the day 'DJ' on Netbuffs said we would have a 'presser' that Buff fans would like

hmmmm ??

CJ also said on his show yesterday that he had been in Boulder earlier and for the first time on that show seemed to admit that Hawk was gone

If in fact today ends up another false hope... a dud, and all of this was "the tail wagging the dog" ... us 'internet scum' filtering down into the locker room, then the insanity must stop and a firing has to take place because everything will have finally got to the team-

So it will have worked out as planned then?

Please please please let this rumor be true. Let this nightmare end. Each day Hawk is here is a waste. I'm just scared some miracle might save him at the end of the season(not a win miracle). I will only be comfortable when his termination is officially announced.

I am hoping with every fiber in my body that this is true, but honestly it probably isn't (remember last year around thanksgiving time same thing). This administration doesn't have half of the required testicle amount to make a move now, although I think a midseason move would be better than waiting anyway.

Nothing going to happen today. Maybe after the OU game.

Woelk was just on the radio and he was wanting them to wait until end of season and actually interview multiple coaches and see who is out there that would be interested, and not just automatically name Mac. Smartest thing he said about the matter in a while on the subject.

Heard from a friend who said that Charles Johnson confirmed Mac was lined up to take-over..... at seasons end.

I still think "during the season" sends a stronger message to recruit-prospects AND to coaching candidates than waiting until the end of the season. It sends a "we don't want bad can-do-nothing coaches" message in no uncertain terms (although opponents in our recruiting wars have been using this line for a few years and can still use some adjunct version of it).

CU can always do a Makovich and "re-assign" him to other teaching positions. This IS a university, after all. Graders. Tutors. They're always needed.

Hawk was at practice this a.m. with the team. Sounds like a normal day in Boulder.
So the 'tail wagged the dog' and the internet has made it to the locker room. At this point
let Hawk coach the impending disaster in Norman and fire him immediately after the game.
When players are now wondering if their coach is getting fired today that's an indicator the coach
should be let go.

Heard from my Barber that Hawk is gone, it's just a matter of when. This was confirmed by Gardener, and Mechanic.

Waiting until the end of the season to interview candidates isn't smart at all since you basically throw away a season of recruiting if you do that. It would be much better to throw out the garbage now and to begin the exhaustive head coaching candidate search, so that they coach have a new coach in place as soon as possible.

We are going to get pasted by OU no matter who the coach is. Wait until after OU and the new or interm coach gets KU and ISU meaning that combined with the emotional boost given by the change and the potential to actually try something that might work. After the way the team has been playing this year the idea of building some positive momentum to continue in the off-season is the best we can hope for. Let Hawkins take the OU beating then change and give the new coach the chance to get off to a positive start.

i agree. no reason to throw the "new" or interim HC into the masher at OU.
