Boise State v. Lousiana Tech

The constant cheer leading by ESPN and the crappy announcers to get Boise State a BCS bid is getting annoying.....

Boise is a joke, as the SEC, Big 12, PAC and Big Ten ranked teams knock each other off, these con-artists are playing their marshmallow WAC schedule. Gimme a break, **** Boyzee.

no matter how many times I see it, I cannot get used to looking at that stupid effing blue turf. Makes me think my TV has crapped out.

Can you imagine if Oregon played on a blue field wearing those puke green uni's.

It would give a new meaning to a technicolor yawn

That's pretty much how I feel, too. I just can't get past their terrible conference schedule. They get too many weeks off.

The final score looked like they killed Louisiana Tech, in fact Tech had at least two drives die on fourth downs in the red zone and Boise scored on two broken plays where they fumbled and recovered, one in the end zone, the other a fumbled pitch that threw the D off.

Had Boise played anything like this against an actual, real BCS caliber team their undefeated season would have been over. Trouble is with the creampuffs they play they can blunder their way through the schedule only having to really prepare and get up for 3-4 games all year. In the mean time the schools in the real conferences are beating each other up every week.

So true

You think we hate Boise now, just imagine if CU was Top 15 and competing for an at-large BCS berth, one that is going to be stolen away by a WAC power. In those scenarios, teams like Boise and Hawaii (w/ Colt Brennan) are a major pain in the ass to the Iowa's, Stanford's and Arkansas' of the world. TCU too, but at least the MWC is respectable, hell even better than the Big East most years.

That's definitely the issue. There aren't many teams Boise isn't capable of defeating in a bowl game, but there's no doubt that a 8 or 9 game schedule in one of the top 3 or 4 conferences would take its toll on them. However, I think those that claim Boise would be mediocre ~.500 in league play in the SEC, Pac12, Big 12 are wrong. In its best years (such as this one), Boise would probably go 6-2. -- i.e. good for being a Top 20 team and a 10 win season, but not one of the truly elite college football teams. While the MWC isn't exactly the toughest around, BSU will slip up more often and disappear from nat'l championship discussion. Boise's WAC dynasty is their niche and their best chance to play for a national championship as it's the only way they're going undefeated.

Boise this year, in the SEC West, would be a 5-3 conference team at best. I think they are a good team, an 8-10 win team possibly, but they are in no way, shape, or form national title material. People say they shouldn't be punished for their schedule, but BCS schools that play anywhere from 5-8 ranked teams a year shouldn't be punished for playing a better schedule either.

Oh no, bosie won by 30 again. Let's all rip them.

**** that ****. Boise beats everyone they play. That's good enough for me. If these BCS teams are so far superior, they should win in early season OOC games or bowl games that allow a month to prepare.

If we have a Boise/TCU Championship game it may make them think harder about starting up a 8, 12, or 16 team playoff in the future. Having Ohio State vs Alabama every year sure isn't going to do it.

In fact, if TCU, Utah, or maybe even Oregon gets in the championship game and wins it, I would think it will piss alot of big money people off.

The 16 team playoff only takes 4 weeks to complete. You could start toward the end of December and finish it up in the middle of January just like they do now pretty much. Still use the polls/rankings to seed the teams and maybe play the first round at the higher ranked team's home stadium. All the other bowl games can still play their games as usual and anyone who has any gripe about getting left out of the national championship game would have their chance.

If we were Boise, everyone on this board would say we deserved a shot. Just saying. Fact is TCU might be the better team, they have an excellent D.

No one that plays a schedule like Boise deserves to even be in the discussion for a BCS bowl, let alone NC game.

I get your point but they beat everybody they play. It isnt their fault the big boys choose to play Charleston Southern and other crap squads.

It is their fault that they are in the WAC. Good on them for upgrading to the MWC for next year, but until they ascend to the Pac 12, they should be eating at the kid's table.

To me it wouldn't matter if they played a bunch of big boys in non-conference play. They still get the majority of their games against cream puffs in conference play. To me conference play is far more important in determining the best teams.

Ok so they play in a weaker conference and absolutely dominate it. What is your argument again? Boise has the hardest job of all. They cant just win, they have to blow teams out. Wisconsin had plenty of trouble with San Jose St. at their house. Maybe you should have said conference play in the conferences you deem worthy.

Big conference teams should have no trouble with them in bowl games since they are so superior. Boise has quite a few that will play in the NFL.

Nobody is saying that Boise isnt good, its just that they need to stop their bitching. Sorry, but Auburn beating LSU carries more weight then Boise beating La. Tech.

And if they want to play big boy ball, toughen up the OOC schedule a little. Two Mountain West teams aint getting it done. They should know that they need to play 4 BCS teams out of conference. They have to deal with the tough part of their schedule early. Tough break, but that is the deal.

Im really sure it's Boise that isnt trying to toughen the schedule lol. The same LSU that beat a winless Sec team in Tennessee at home by a damn fluke. Boise and their coach dont bitch at all. U know what they do? They win period.

No question. Boise has won for a long time against quality opponents. They would compete in any conference.

Not talking about the team, talking about the fans.
And no, they do not make their schedule tough enough. Right now they get pissed because very few teams want to do a home and home with them, so they then schedule MWC teams that will. Well thats not going to get it done. They need to go 2-1 with teams. it sucks, but that this going to have to be the road they take. They don't have to even be good teams.
At the end of the year one team beat 8 BCS teams, one beat 2 BCS teams. Which is a better schedule? They need to schedule all BCS teams in their out of conference, and until they do they can be the great undefeated team that doesn't get to play in the big game.

Just because they are a BCS team doesnt mean they are good. The point is, they try to schedule BCS teams but I guarantee you most of them wont do it. If the so called BCS teams wont do it, who are they supposed to schedule? South Dakota St? I see your argument but they can beat SEC teams, no doubt.

They can't, no one will play them, BSU pretty much will play anyone who wants to anywhere they want to play and they still can't get enough BCS schools on thier schedule. When they do play BCS they beat them usually in a hostile environment, when they play ****ty teams they blow them out. What else exactly can they do to make a case for a BCS bid?

Nothing really. I thought I made that point clear, at least I did with one person lol.

Not true. Not many teams will do a home and home with them because of the risk and the money. But I'll bet they could find a lot of teams that will do 2-1's with them. And I get that its not fair, but thats what they get for being basically a community college 20 years ago. They are climbing the latter, they are just not there yet.

I don't think anyone disagrees that they can beat a SEC team on any given weekend. Where people have a problem is that they dont think that they could go through a 8 game schedule (usually all in a row) in the SEC and be undefeated. ****, we beat an SEC team this year, and we suck. That can happen on any given weekend, but not on every given weekend.

I have no idea why I am so fired up about this, I think I blame Boise for Hawk. :gun:
