4 TDs and 226 yards in about 2 quarters of play, but I can't believe they burned his redshirt.

He actually played some against Michigan and Navy so his redshirt was already burned. I didn't realize that we had also recruited him.

Also, Crist is done for the year with a knee injury so Rees will probably be the one finishing out the year for them.

I was being sarcastic. The whole redshirt discussion here reminds me of Helen Lovejoy from the Simpsons.

Keep the redshirt on Hirshman. I don't want Hawkins ruining another QB in Boulder.

 What has happened to Hansen is a disaster. he's basically gonna only use 2 seasons of his eligibility out of a possible 5 between redshirt mismanagement and injury. It's pathetic.

If we only had Hansen for two more years...Damn you Hawk!

Jackson, Cox, Nelson, Hawkins, Hansen...the tragedy...If only Hawk didn't ruin such promising careers. And Ballenger..forgot about him...sure fire Heisman winner if not for Hawk.

If Hawk really cares about leaving the table set for the next guy, Hirschman will play in the 2nd half when we're down by 40. Sink or swim. Let's find out if he can play.

I'm sure Hawk is worried about the next coach. Putting him into the fire in Norman would undoubtedly make him a better QB. Nice.

Hey. Who knows. He could come in and be a star. I just think that with Nick's history in HS and this season's situation...We shouldn't rush him into a bad situation. Things would go from bad to worse in a hurry.

The only way I think he should see the field is if Cody get's hurt. Then you have to go with him. I don't want to see McKnight taking snaps at QB this season.

We can all go back to watching the Simpson's now. :smile2:

You are retarded and a bad father to your son.

Come get your Orange County Ass Whoopin' pussy boy.

Kidding aside, you have a valid point. I get it. It's not an ideal situation to play Nick. How valuable would the experience be considering it's under the guidance of a lame duck staff? I don't know. I'm 66/33 for burning the shirt. I think, in general, people place way too much value on the shirt. Sometimes it's just as valuable to burn the shirt. If the guy sucks, at least you know what you got, and you don't have him tying up a scholly for an extra year.

A+ Notre Dame. A+. Man if CU was even a little bit ok, I would really be enjoying this college football season....

The only reason that I even think he would be worth buring the shirt, is what if the next staff comes in and they need a running QB? If Nick is not suited to the next offense he may never get more then a little look. I wish we knew who the next coach was.

Hawk wil not put another QB in this year unless Cody and Scotty can't play at all. He wants to pad Cody's stats too much-- so he can look back and say "Man, if the fans would not have bitched Cody would own all those records forever! I knew he was great!!!'
