This has bugged me for years and I always forget to post this but here goes--the in game replay angle showed on BuffVision scoreboard is always way too tight. Fans can't tell ANYTHING from replays at Folsom. Please pull the camera angle back for all replays in the future. All the fans around me continually complain about this. Thanks.

yes this

They never replay the plays you actually want to see a replay of, so the camera angle it doesn't really bother me much.

One thing to add to that is usually when there is a play that you really want to see the replay on they are showing some stupid commercial for some goofy award. Save that stuff for halftime or between quarters, not between plays.

No, it's that they don't replay controversial plays.

What does that mean?

So you are saying that if it is a play you would like to see replayed becasue it was "close", they won't replay those? What the hell good is having the screens for then?

The philosophy is that if they show the replay of a close call, and it shows that the refs blew the call, it could incite the crowd. Not saying it's right, but that's what I've always heard as the reason not to show controversial calls on replay in the stadium.

Interesting... So why do we have replay then?

uhh ... to show replays - just not ALL of them!!

It's very important to the in-game experience to see eight replays from four different angles of our 2 yard gain on first down. Not so much to see whether our WR was or was not in bounds in the end zone.

Yeah, there were several plays like that Sat where the WR dropped the ball but may have caught it/touched the ground type thing and they never showed one of them. One was an actual replay that the refs looked at but we couldn't see because they ran some damn commercial or trivia question.

I have seen controversial calls on the Texas jumbotron in Austin many times, over and over again. However, UT does not have the history of pegging the refs with batteries etc (because they are pussies) so that may have something to do with it. I dont think football at any level has a policy against showing close calls.

However, I know that the MLB umpires union has an agreement with MLB not to show any controversial calls at the stadium during baseball games.

From a Mr. Dave Plati(you happy Alferd?):
we don't pay attention to message boards--same 25 people or so, wouldn't be happy if we cured cancer, so all of us tune them out.
Good message to send to the fans Dave.

No, I'm not happy.

I thought you were maybe joking around, so if he really wrote that in an email, he needs a talking to. He must be taking a lot of crap from all sides, but no excuse for alienating the fans --- even if there were only 25 of us left.

Can you post the contents of the whole email or was that it, I'd love to share with Mr. plati the number of people that read allbuffs on any given day.

Well I have three accounts here and my guess is most people have at least 6 or 7, so that seems about right.

Plus this internet thing is a fad and is going to go away not get bigger. So they should for sure just tune it out until it goes away. Maybe we should do the same with hawk?

I'll post the whole comment. Keep in mind this wasn't a personal email. This was posted on his facebook page.
Monica Brooks Hi, Dave. Just wanted to drop "Mr. CU" a note. I defend what is going on in sports over there every day to someone disgruntled. I often wonder if you internal guys hear it?

    • David Plati Thanks for doing that Monica! We hear some, but we don't pay attention to message boards--same 25 people or so, wouldn't be happy if we cured cancer, so all of us tune them out. Get a few e-mails, answer most as long as their not combative, insulting or crude. And hey, it's not like we don't want to win, either! Have we met, you look a bit familiar ;)Friday at 11:27pm

Check it out, the CU AD was just told that there are hundreds of hardcore fans expressing their feelings on internet message boards:

say it isn't so, Mr. Plati. Say it isn't so.

He said "their" when he meant "they're." What IS the world coming to?
