Who has embarrassed the program more: Hawkins or Fairbanks

Who has embarrassed the program more?

I was a baby during the Fairbanks years, so I wasn't embarrased then. I know it was bad, losing to Drake twic, 82-42 etc. However, I cannot believe how far we've fallen and what Dan has done in his 5 years here.

Hawkins. Not even close. More years, louder mouth, and a lot more national media coverage of college football in this era.

I'll vote Hawk, probably because of the level of anger I have toward him right now. But really, they both are embarrassing poster children for bad behavior as a coach. With the widespread coverage of college football now, Hawkins exploits have shown him nationwide to be a complete loser who now is acting like a child.

Hawkins

Fairbanks sucked, but in his defense, apparently he never tried.

D2D has gone from "go play intramurals, brotha" to "burned to the ground" and finally "doesn't matter if you win or lose". Juicebox will be forever linked in the CU record books for the most humiliating loses in team history.

Devils advocate argument for Fairbanks from a long term fan. Fairbanks cost us a huge amount, got us sued, changed the uniforms, lost to Drake (twice!) spent more on his office than on his assistants, gave up 56 to UCLA in the first half, then took the money and left without a single word, all the while acting like the job was beneath him. All I will say in Hawkins defense is that he does seem to care. Small (actually tiny) consolation to a destroyed program but maybe he wins on just that?.... No cannot do it, HAWKINS by a mile.

I wasn't alive for Fairbanks, so I can't really comment on his well documented achievements at CU. Hawk on the other hand, has caused this program to remain on par with the 2006 team that he inherited. We are so ****ing screwed it's absurd. We lose to FCS teams, we lose to Kansas with massive leads, we lose to every single team on the road, he makes ridiculous comments that make it sound like we hired a retard. His son is the only QB on the roster right now that we can legitimately use, how the **** is our depth that bad? He also has somehow brainwashed the entire team into being loyal to him regardless of how ****ty they are doing, so I'm sure we can expect numerous transfers in the offseason.

Was too young to remember Fairbanks, but I've got to say Hawkins. With media being 24x7 now, he's made us a national joke.

I was a student during the Fairbanks years - and there were some terrible lows; losing to Drake - TWICE, 82 - 42 (actually was very entertaining), 1 - 10, etc. etc. But Chuck was a burnout from the get go who didn't care and was only there for the money. It didn't take long to figure out we had no chance in any game. Hawkins is a self-absorbed, delusional moron making mind-boggling coaching decisions seemingly to sabotage our success. Fairbanks could have coached this team to 6 wins this year - so my vote is Hawkins.

Objectively, it's got to be Hawkins. Nobody - even the amazingly awful Chuck Fairbanks - has ever done this much damage to the reputation of the University of Colorado. One man has single handedly turned a team that was 16 years removed from a MNC and 5 years removed from a Conference Championship into the single worst football team the school has ever had. We're beyond getting embarassed, now we're irrelevant.

I hate you, Dan Hawkins.

I hate you, Han Dawkins.

Fixed.

Thing is, that now in the information age, there are tribesmen in the middle of Zimbabwe and Amazonia that know how awful CU is under Dan MORON Hackins. With the internet and the global information grid, literally the whole can look up CU and see disastrous football headlines. In the early 80s, we only had to worry about local TV, newspaper, and local radio to hear about the Fairbanks debacle.

Hawk without question.... at least the AD had the stones to get rid of fairbanks while Bohn has his thumb so far up his ass.....

Went with Hawk, but gotta wonder how much of that is because it is current and Fairbanks happened years ago. The more I hear though the more I think the whole administration is makes this the biggest embarrassment

Fairbanks resigned to take the NJ Generals HC job with his old pal and OU booster J. Walter Duncan.
