Bohn going to keep CU coach Hawkins for now

News Junkie
Colorado coach Dan Hawkins will likely keep his job until the end of the season a source said Saturday night that athletic director Mike Bohn wants to keep the continuity with quarterback Cody Hawkins, the coach's son.

Total BS. Bohn is afraid of upsetting both Cody and Kiesau?

Boy, I can't wait for the senior banquet!

This program is a complete and total embarrassment at this point, there's simply no other way to put it. What a ****ing joke.

Yep - Bohn's inability to take action has turned something that is always tough (firing a coach) and turned it into an awful spectacle.

This can't possibly be true, can it? It seems that there is no way that Cody would say he'd quit if his dad was fired and even less likely that Bohn would take that threat into account.

At this point, what I think must be going on, is that Bohn has no one who is willing to be an interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

Good point. I wonder if there is any discourse among the assistants. Hawkins has his guys and rest are out there to defend for themselves.

Just heard an ESPN update on the radio. They are reporting that Dan Hawkins won't be fired before the end of the season because Cody Hawkins is the only available quarterback.

So
****ing
what

What in the world is wrong with our AD that he has more concern over the lame-duck coach's son than his own football program?

the perception is reality angle hurts, but i don't believe for a minute the reason Hawk wasn't canned today or this week is because of Cody.

So if Cody wasn't even on the team you still don't think that Hawkins would be fired by now? I don't believe that for a millisecond.

i don't know, just seems like a flimsy story to me that Hawk is around because Bohn is worried about the last 3 games of Cody Hawkins' career or CU keeping the RS for Hirshman or there's no way to play out a miserable streak other than Cody taking the snaps. I don't know why Hawk hasn't been fired, but I don't think the reason is Cody. has to be something else. negotiations, legal stuff, money....something. ESPN reports speculation and factual errors *all the time*.

It has everything to do with Cody. Not conspiracy theory stuff I hope, but it still has everything to do with him.

Sounds like everyone jumping on the rumors Ringo started last night. Anonymous source provided this little nugget and all other media outlets are running with it like it is gospel.

I'm thinking ringo was john henderson's source close to the program, not buying it.

I don't doubt there are other factors involved, but I do think the fact that Cody is the only healthy non-freshman QB on the roster plays a huge part.

If the idea behind firing Hawk this week is to try to salvage some wins from the rest of this season, the knowledge that it would leave the team without a QB that has ever taken a snap above the HS level might rightly affect the decision...

This season is shot regardless of what mathematical possibilities say.
