College Football Live - Colorado a good job

Well for all the negativity that the local media types like Henderson bring, its nice to see that the big dogs of the media still think its a good job. Palmer said he thinks its a great job and that the next football coach will be afforded an opportunity to win - he brought up the stupid noise issue but said overall its a really good job. They then said somebody will be breaking out the skis and the smiles to get that job at CU.

What's this "noise issue" everyone talks about? This has obviously comes about since I was raising hell there.

It's a non-issue. He's saying there's some kind of dorky ordinance that Boulder enforces that keeps the team from practicing with loudspeakers. He's wrong. CU can tell Boulder to go shove it if it wants to. I honestly don't have the first idea where he's getting this story from. It's totally incorrect.

I know seriously - I remember them practicing with "Crowd Noise" before going to the Washington game to play Skippy.

It's not even real but Jesse Palmer likes to bring it up everytime he talks. He said that the City of Boulder has a noise ordinance so that the football team can't practice with fake crowd noise pumped in. Since I know we did it a time or two this year, it's complete BS. For some reason, that's a huge issue to the Bachelor.

OK - got it guys, thanks.
Now back to our regularly scheduled thread, my bad for the :hijacked:

Why would any coach in their right mind take a job where you can't use loudspeakers every once in a while?? That's a huge disadvantage, almost like trying to compete with 40 scholarships. We may have to settle for Dave Logan or an up and coming DIII coach who might be willing to deal with such a handicap.

Ryan riccilo and Scott van pelt gave some good pub to cu on their show today also. Ryan said you tell me what recruit who wants to get away, goes to boulder and doesn't love what they see.. He also said," All you recruits, take a visit to boulder and get back to me"

Both stated cu had tradition and a history of winning and good players.

Does ryan riccilo (don't know if it's spelled correctly) have colorado ties?

I was somewhat surprised at the Sportscenter coverage - not negative at all. Compare his w/l records at Boise and CU, then went on to say that the "Zen" approach never really clicked in the B12. Mentioned some possible H/C candidates including Mac, Belotti, and an O/C (I think McElwain?, but they said with Cali ties).

The ONLY reason a coach would not like the CU job would be the real or perceived lack of support from school admin.

Meanwhile, Beno coook says you can't win at colorado.

grade A......

I like Jesse Palmer the more and more I see him. I completely agree with everything he says regarding the BCS Bosie State and TCU... and he had only good things to say about the CU job.

1 year at Fresno State doesn't give him Cali ties imo.

Plus, the picture of this guy makes him look goofy. Reason enough to move on.

I know that Ryen Russillo has some friends who live in Boulder. He came out here this past summer on a vacation and said on the show that he came to play golf with some buddies. No ties to the school I don't think.

Van Pelt also said that if you're a three star recruit, Boulder is a five star destination.

Thanks, russillo also said he was ticked off and wished cu was good again so gameday would come back to boulder. Really like the good pub from him and scott and most of espn for that matter.

We all get tied up in the last 5 years. CU is a traditionally strong football school that does have history of producing in almost every decade. ****, in 01 we were like .1 bcs points from playing the MNC game. Also before Hawk, we were involved in like 4 out of 7 Big XII champ games. Coaches will see this as an opportunity to get to a BCS school that has tradition of winning. We will get significant interest if a national search is really done. All of the good programs have gone thru down cycles: OU, UT, ND, AL, and on and on. If the admin is committed to getting this back on track, it can and will be done. This hire will get it started or set us way back. Bohn is now working on the most important hire for CU since Mac the first time.
