Amidst all the craptasticness of CU football 2010, one of the bright spots, for me at least, has been the emergence of PRich as a bonafide playmaker... as a freshman.

Now, if we can just get him to stick around. I have absolutely no insight as to his state of mind, so I am NOT trying to start some rumor. Here's hoping we have three more years - to go with a real offensive philosophy and an improving supporting cast.

I don't know much, but heard him postgame, radio, and was impressed. Bright, well-spoken, not petentious - seemed like a real good young man. Definitely talented

You think he was so dedicated to Hawk he would leave now? Highly doubtful when he should know the next coach can actually exploit his talents.

If anyone like PRich does decide to leave the next HC will just have to do what Boyle did with Alec Burks. Make sure you keep your playmakers on the team.

PR has been talking about transferring to a Cal school since he got here according to some posters on Rivals. Extreme Homesickness, maybe involving a female....

Well if he does he will have to redshirt but he does have talent so it would be a loss and i can imagine what he could do if he had a better coaching staff around

he'll have to sit out two years now or go way below his talent level.

I swear to God, if he transfers for a girl, I'm gonna blame the roommate that wouldn't double-up.

Cant we just hook him up with some cali girls? They are all over the place on campus and they are probably excited.

Think I heard that was a Big 12 bylaw and that transfers in-conference in the PAC-12 only take the NCAA 1 year minimum.

I think you are mistaken here. Both conferences have the same rules...just written differently.

New coach will have to re-recruit Richardson

The Buffs' next head coach will not only have to quickly recruit high school prospects to round out the Class of 2011, he'll also have to re-recruit some of the players currently on CU's roster. Possibly the next coach's biggest recruiting challenge will be to convince true freshman wide receiver Paul Richardson to stick around Boulder.

I guess it's to be expected but I really wish he would stay.

This has kind of been out there for a few weeks, but, yeah, the new guy will have to convince him to stay. Keep in mind, his California options are now very limited unless he is willing to stay out for two years. Thats a pretty good "recruiting" tool along with the fact that CU will be playing in Cali on a regular basis.

Oops. I did a search and didn't find anyone talking about this so I just threw it in here.

How do you convince a teenager that doing something "for a girl" at his age is the wrong move. Everyone gets homesick you just need challenges sometimes to find yourself as a person.

And if his GF is California has been following his twitter feed, he might find more than his FB options limited when he gets back to California...

i think it is a little early to start worrying about kids transferring, it seems like hawk may not have been loved by a good portion of the team, no reason they aren't as excited as the rest for a change in leadership.

There are a number of freshmen who go through this every year (see Justin Torres as a footnote.)
If Richardson gets through the worst of it, has a good winter break and the team does its magic, he'll be back.
If he missed family and GF more than he loves Boulder, nothing we can do about it.

But the older guys need to get to him and say "buddy, we felt the same way our first year. Tough it out." I trust they will. The problem with Torres is he never talked to anyone, just caught a plane. Richardson is being more vocal, and the guys can address what is going on. Much smarter move.

some of these kids need to man up. you can't be away from home for a couple months at a time?? come on, grow up...man up. take the experience for what its worth.

I doubt Richardson is considering leaving because of Talkins. If he leaves it seems to me it will be because he is not happy in Boulder and being away from home.

I sure hope you stay Paul. Freshman year is the most difficult. Give it some time, recharge your batteries over Christmas and see how the spring goes for you. The ladies come out again in full force, sure as the flowers bloom.

Ah yes. Can you remember that first warm day in Boulder, when every girl seems to have received a memo that reads, "where a summer dress today."? It's a good day to blow off class and hang out at Trumbow Fountain (gone now, no?) and look for gratuitous muff shots. Just me? Ummm, okay, carry on. I looked forward to that day all Winter though.

Absolutely! One of the best days freshman year. Farrand beach returned and it was a beautiful day. We all skipped out on classes to hangout on the lawn. One of the things I miss most about CU.

I loved those days! Truly the best. Hanging out on Farrand throwing around a football or frisbee. Wow.
