In case you guys missed it, Woelk is leaving the Boulder Daily Camera after the football season ends. He'll be joining an Oregon paper.

Do you think that he'll lie low for the next few weeks?

Or do you think he'll feel free to speak his mind since he doesn't have to worry so much about protecting his long-term relationships for access/stories?

I guess he smooched all the fannies here in Co and is looking for new fannies to smack....

I've met and talked to Neil a couple of times. He is almost too granola for Boulder.

He will blend/fit in quite nicely in Oregon.

crap! i never gave him approval to leave. :wtf:

who is taking his place?

im kinda bummed. i liked reading what he had to say. hell, he has been around forever. what the hell does he know about oregon sports?

That's too bad. I didn't always agree with Woelk, but he was good to the Buffs, Boulder and the fans. I wish him good luck at his new home.

Supposedly it's to run a small town paper in Oregon. I'm sure that over the past 29 years, Boulder had gotten way too metro for Neill's taste.

Adios Neil! One of the good guys and someone who did care about the program is leaving, can't say I'm not a bit bummed about this. Regardless of what some clowns thought of his articles, the guy had as much passion and love for the program as any of the rest of us Buff nation. Lets just hope we get somebody in not afraid to tell it like it is...

Maybe BDC will bring back Patrick Ridgell formerly of the Longmont newspaper. He was very good and has been missed.

Good call.

Or Tom Kensler. Now the DP has put a cease and decist request on Allbuffs, maybe he'll miss the readership of informed fans.
