Yep, lets give him a chance.

He could do wonders here, you know he is a big name, maybe he can recruit for us.

meh ?

I'm so glad you have no say in who our next coach is.

hey I wouldn't be upset over it but I have some concerns ... mainly that he has no West Coast ties
& would be shocked at how different Pac12 football is to the SEC

You know, seriously, I'm starting to feel the same way. His resume' is impressive overall, but when you look at the talent he's had the last few years, the teams on the field have looked pretty unimpressive. Stafford, Moreno, Green, etc. is some real NFL talent, and it just doesn't seem to translate. It's like something is missing a bit.

I'm not saying I don't want him, and I think comparing him to Fairbanks is a pretty major overstatement, and I would love a coach who could go into Texas and land a recruit like Stafford that everybody wants. But I can see why people might have some reservations...

AMEN! This guys had a top 5 recruiting class the last 5 consecutive years and can't get it done!

Like I said Richt can eat my dick!

i know.... i picked up on the sarcasm earlier... i just wanted to take it to the next level

Um, that's not quite what I said...

Richt is not terrible, for sure. And his recruiting has been fantastic. There's just something about the product on the field that keeps me from being out of my mind excited about the idea. But is he a bad coach?? No....

I'm not saying he's a bad coach, he just doesn't belong in Boulder.

The last time Georgia won the SEC before Richt got there, 1982.

The last time Georgia won the SEC east before Richt got there, 1992.

Mark Richt isnt good enough for a school that hasnt had a winning season since 2005. A coach that has averaged 10 wins mind you.

I understand some have their own reservations for each candidate but say the getting Richt would be bad for the Buffs is ****ing laughable. Keep up the entertainment.

I don't think anyone is saying Richt would be bad for the Buffs. He is on my list, just not in the top 15. I think it is laughable that over 40 "candidates" have been thrown around on this site. RIDICULOUS! I hear Bob Stitt at School of Mines is doing great. Should we bring him in for an interview too?

Is that supposed to be a rebuttal? Did you really compare the SEC to RMAC?

***edit: I would love to see your top 15

Look dude, all I'm saying is everybody is just throwing names around. I can name tons of head coaches around D1 ball. I'm just saying, if we are getting a current D1 head coach for the $2 million we got to spend, aren't we taking someone's seconds. I would like to think the people on the search committee are a little smarter than to take seconds. SEC, ACC, MWC, PAC 12, you name the conference, they are seconds. Unless however, their current school cannot match what we are willing to pay.

I would also like to think that this University that I love is better than a "seconds" University. Or does that lesson need to be taught again?

Well he has been contacted according to some reports so there must be something to it however slim. But please list the 15 dude.

I don't think people here are just throwing names around when some of the "names being thrown around" are confirming contact and media outside of Colorado is talking about it as well.

 He's fine in his element at a traditional top 10 school with NFL talent all over the two deep. He's not going to have that here. And I think big time recruits are going to avoid CU until we find a coach who can make a bowl game.

I've said my piece. Not going to spend any more time worrying about it. The chances of him leaving UGA voluntarily are only slightly better than Miles coming here.

Do you people forget we used to be the top 10 school with NFL talent? It is possible to have that again with the right coach.

Look bud, I don't care how great a head coach any might be, the fact of the matter is if CU is getting Richt from UGA, UGA is letting Richt go. You can insert any coaches name and any school if you wish.

Then again, I guess we could always be the Tech (Tubberville from AU) of the PAC 12.
Personally, I never liked sloppy seconds.
