God Boise blew one today... they could have had a shot, but we'll never know now. O wait they won by 50, God they suck I think they will have to go undefeated for another two years before I am convinced they could compete in a REAL conference.

HAHAHA **** you Boise haters.

HAHAHA **** you Boise haters.

They would lose at least 2 games in every BCS conference not named the Big East, and probably at least one in that conference. So ya, How about you hate Boise St refusing to play nebraska this year?

This is why I get pissed at the Boise State fanboys.

It's an impressive performance.

But it's pathetic that this is what counts as a big game on the Boise State schedule. Fresno State is a 6-4 team that hasn't beaten a D1 team with a winning record this season.

I'm sure they refused to play nebraska... The only conferences they wouldn't go undefeated in is pac 10 and sec... they would rape in the big 12.

refusing? how'd that work?

correction: Making such ridiculous demands to play nebraska so that it wasn't worth it for nebraska to play them. As in, asking for significantly more money than we are getting for the one off OSU game next year. I was just heading off the ridiculous "play anyone, anywhere" argument.

Doesn't matter, they can't prove on the field that they belong in the top 2 teams. They just can't. Sort of hope they get the chance tho just to rile up the anti-BCS crowd.

Thank you!! (kinda) They have not lost a game since 2000 ****ing 8!!! and that was by 1 point.

Who have they beat this year? Besides a lower tier pac 10 team at home and an ACC team that historically struggles early, spotted them 21 points and STILL almost one, and then promptly lost to a FCS school?

Titus young might be the best athlete in college football I have seen this year.

. For the sake of the argument, titus young is now the BEST ATHLETE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL EVER. But his lines would get crushed, and by the 3d game of getting the **** kicked out of him by overpowering dlines in a row, Kellen would have a bad game against and his team would lose.

They played against three teams that will end up in the top 25, which is about the same as most bcs conference teams.

*edit: possibly including CU, who we all considered to have a tough schedule.

 GTFO with this garbage. You get games on tv up in potato land, right?

In fairness, Titus Young should be among the first 10 WRs chosen in the draft. Someone's going to need a return man. I can see him going late 2nd round / early 3rd.

OK everyone... i'll just take my non-bcs teams that are 5-1 in bcs bowl games and you can have teams with "great talent" (according to rivals).

I have watched my fair share of football... and that ****** doesn't impress me.

Why is it ridiculous for a top 5 team to demand more money for a road game than a team coming off 4 (probably 5) straight losing seasons?

That's kind of the point, though. You look at a conference like the Big 12. There's not a single week when any team can't beat any other team. That's a grind. And on top of that, these programs generally schedule a couple more games against BCS competition (or one of the better small conference schools).

Take CU, for example. Mediocre team this year. Sometimes pretty bad. Will have a losing record in the Big 12. Crushed the team that will finish 2nd in the WAC. Last place team in the Big 12 South is flippin' Texas who was in the national championship game last season. Sorry, but until Boise State runs a gauntlet like that or at least makes sure that it schedules all BCS bowl teams in its non-conference schedule... then I refuse to take them seriously as national title contenders.

Ya, they've had a good run. You still have completely failed to address the point about getting worn down by LARGER, STRONGER, and FASTER athletes over hte course of a season, not to mention having far less room for error against teams with talent. Hell, half their games are against team that would struggle against FCS opponnets. Well, besides saying it "doesn't impress you." Which is a pretty solid argument considering you have watched enough BCS football to say that a guy on Boise St is the best athlete in college football.

oh, and to be clear, I think Boise St is a damn good football team. But until the system expands to a playoff, they just CANNOT, by sake of schedule, play in the national championship game because they CANNOT prove that they are a top 2 team.

This talk is all just more talk about how we need a playoff system...

I agree.

For example, the Big 10 doesn't get a lot of respect this season. But I look at a team like Ohio State. They've got to close the season with Penn State, Iowa and Michigan. Boise State never has to play consecutive games against teams with that much NFL-quality talent and depth. If Ohio State runs that, they finish 11-1 with the only blemish a night game they lost at 9-1 Wisconsin. Wisconsin finishes with Michigan and Northwestern after its 83-20 blowout of Indiana last week. They could also finish 11-1. That's two teams from the Big 10 I consider much more deserving of a national title game shot than an undefeated Boise State.

I watched BSU play an awful Idaho team last week, and I am now convinced they are a complete fraud. Most BCS teams are beating the CRAP out of one another during conference play. The worst team in the B12 would give BSU a good game IMO.

BSU is a good team... but their players are well rested and rarely dinged up because they play crap schedule.

But the current system does not prove anything about being a top 2 team...... because in a season.... WHEN you lose is much more important than who you lose to. If you schedule your tough games early in the season and have a loss, that is much better than losing to a top team in the last 3 weeks of the season.....

So everyone's arguments suck!

Unless you are Nebraska or Oklahoma. Then you're given a pass and allowed to get blown out in the national championship game.
