Speedy Stewart: Wow. Props. Top 15 back in the nation?

Way to prove the doubters wrong Speedy. 35 carries a game? Not a problem, he wants 40! Lots of people thought he was "too small" to take that many carries, but I've been watching how many hits he takes in a game, and when its running, it really is rare to see him take a hard hit. He's very good at slithering around the main point of contact and avoiding damaging hits. He mentioned as much in his last presser. He takes worse hits in pass protection, which he does damn well since he can get low on just about anyone .

Here is an amazing stat: Speedys 270 carries is good for SECOND in the nation.

Rodney Stewart, Colorado RB JR 11 270 1230 10 4.56 111.82

Ya, thats 1230 yards. Good for 11th in the Nation. Not bad for a guy splitting time early in the season with a dumb**** coach who refused to give him the ball late in games randomly. 10 TDs. One TD pass. Add in 27 receptions for 271 yards, and you got a pretty nice threat to catch the ball out of the backfield.

Only negatives are that his ypc are a bit low, but most of that has come from performances liek the cal game when hawk seemed determined to use speedy to get that game over with as early as possible despite the team having quit (except for speedy).

Imagine what would happen if speedy started hitting the hole with more authority when it was there :wow:. He has gotten better this season, especially in the last few games (cabral ftw). However, he stilll dances at times when he doesn't need to. But the increased amount of long runs we hae seen this year is encouraging.

So anyways, Speedy is looking like he is capable to close in on a certain HC candidate in total yards if he gets another year like this one with his total rushing yards at 2,656...

Love this kid, I know some think he "sucks" (rugged), but damn, the kid PRODUCES. Now, finish off strong speedy and get ready for a bad ass senior year. Hope the new coach knows how to use you!

Speedy is the man! Was so excited to see him finally break a 50+ yarder yesterday!

Still needs to work a little on his dancing at the LOS, but he is gonna be a threat in the Pac-12 next year!

If they would have given him the ball more against kansas we would be bowl eligable already.

The more I think about this the angrier I get, got to let it go.

I hope Speedy has the same stats Friday.

Imagine if he had a line that blocked all season as well as they did yesterday. IMO he'd prob be in the top 5 in yards and ypc.

Not so sure about that as Hawkins wouldn't have been fired and I doubt they beat ISU or KSU w/ Hawkins still in charge.

I hope he continues to prove me wrong. I still think his stats should be better than they are.

Really proud of Speedy. Very impressive that he is putting up this kind of numbers considering our offensive struggles with Talkins at the helm.

I hope he has a huge day against the Fuskers!
