So this is my first game in lincoln and have a lot of friends that a knebraska fans so I got a free student ticket. I'm just kind of having second thoughts about sitting with all those students. i will probably be the only CU fan among them so im sure i'll get heckled to hell ha. plus i have a really good feeling that we will win this game and we all know how nebraska fans can get when they aren't winning. so i was wondering if you think there would be any seats open in the CU section that i could go sit in? would much rather sit with us CU fans. but hey i might just stay in the student section. would be a hell of an experience especially if we win. and we will!

If you're an opposing fan in the student section you cannot complain if they beat you up and throw piss on you. Seriously. I don't care if it's Nebraska or Alcorn State. Sitting in the student section wearing the other team's gear is an invitation to be treated like dog **** in my book.
 
I would just act like I was cheering for neb just so you dont get your ass kicked by some of the classiest fans in the world.
 
Nothing to worry about. You'll run into some jackasses, but for the most part, you'll be fine. At last year's OU game, there were a few OU fans in the student section where I had my tickets, and they didn't get treated badly.
 
Yeah i'm just going to do it. I grew up in nebraska a CU fan so i've heard it all. Look for me in my Eric Bienemy jersey in all that red!
 
my fave Nebraska fans i saw once at a CU spring game in the Neu years. there's like 12 guys together in cutoff jeanshorts, acne, and weirdly tight fitting red NU windsuit jackets.

This seriously is not a good idea unless you're Ronnie Coleman. I've been to a few CU games in Lincoln with gear on and yeah, don't go take a piss by yourself unless you're on the colorado side.

Better not take your kids or grandparents with you, husker fans will push them down the stairs. Also, husker fans love to throw piss bombs.
 
Better be prepared. They smell really bad after rolling in the hay with the barnyard animals and after...well just rolling in the hay. They are really ugly too, kind of look like barnyard animals.
 
Seriously, this is a bad idea. You're opening the door to all kinds of trouble. Not worth it IMHO.

In all seriousness, I have to agree with AZ on this. I don't care how "classy" the niblet fans are, there is no way that sitting in the student section while cheering for the Buffs is a good idea. Find a way to sneak into the visitor section.
 
Hell, in 2008 sitting in the CU section the unlucky CU fans sitting closest to the fusker fans we were showered with f-bombs and threats to "kick their ass" all day long every time they cheered for the Buffs (it was only a group of about a dozen or so red brainiacs). Probably won't be much different for you, just ignore 'em - take what they give to you and smile.

It will be a good time in Stincoln.

If you're with your buddies who are Nubs, they should have your back against physical assaults. Take the verbal assaults and you'll be fine. And if you do get you ass kicked, just consider yourself a martyr, take picks and post them on Allbuffs as exhibit A of what assholes Nub fans are.
 
I'm with Daah. Stay out of opposing teams student sections. It pisses me off to see visitors in ours and imagine the fealing is mutual at other stadiums.
 
If you stand there in your gear and don't outwardly cheer, you should be fine. If you start cheering when something against them happens, you're asking for trouble. I'm not a very nice person and in the CU section, if there are opposing fans, I'm fine as long as they are quiet and understand they are in our territory. If they start cheering, **** 'em.

Because it is gameday. You should be wearing CU stuff even if you're at a funeral. Although who the **** schedules a funeral during football season...

in enemy territory you have to represent. find your seats in the student section, introduce yourself to the locals....tell em you are here. wish em a good game and let them know that CU is your team and that's just how it is. if there's creepy, seriously hammered, violent types....then, explore options.

my feeling is that students will take it in stride. most of em.

Exactly. And you'll be with friends who are NU fans so they should have your back. If things get scary, drop your pants, take a dump on some hick's shoe, become a legend.
