Munchie Legaux

A source very close to Munchie has told me that Munchie is fed up with the coaches at Cincy and was not ok with the move to WR and now wants to transfer and become a BUFF!

Dont want him now. He had his chance and he ditched us. We have Tyler, Nick and Brock next year we will be fine!!

Never say no to an athlete like that. So long as he has the grades, I would welcome him with open arms.

I think he is upset because he isnt at QB so Cincy probably saw him and they probably think he is better at a different position and he wants to play qb.

He doesnt want to change positions he wants to play QB, and he should definately get a shot at it

Meh.

EDIT: No thanks on giving someone else another shot at QB. Good luck somewhere else.

And that is precisely why I would rather not take a shot on him. If that really is the only reason he wants to leave Cincy, then I wouldn't consider him much of a team player.

I don't see the knock on giving him a shot to play QB for us....running/athletic QB's can be pretty successful in the Pac 10 (ahem Oregon)....and last time I checked, TH is the most athletic QB on our team, and no offense to Tyler, but that's not saying a whole heck of a lot

Really depends on what the offense is going to look like in the future. I'd welcome Munchie to transfer in for spring ball as long as there was an understanding that he would get a legit shot to run QB in the spring and run scout team during the 2011 season. But that if he isn't in the mix by spring 2012 to take over for Tyler, then he agrees without complaint to switch to WR at that time.

It is a matter of having potentially four underclassmen QBs in addition to Tyler Hansen. Only so many reps to go around.

I hear ya....I'm just not 100% solid that any of our QB commits will actually be Buffs on National Signing Day (lots of things up in the air until we get that new coach)...but bottom line we need a massive infusion of talent/competition at that position as it's been terribly week for far too long

Really depends a lot on who the new coach is. If the new coach wants to run an offense more like Oregon or Nebraska with the QB an integral part of the running game then Munchie gives us something we don't have right now. Tyler is mobile but only compared to QBs who play in a pocket based system. Berglund the same, a guy who can move but is primarily a passer first. Sherry looks to be the prototypical pocket type passer who primarily uses his mobility to avoid the rush, not to create running yardage. Hirschmann the same.

Munchie is almost a run first throw second guy. He throws well enough that you have to stick with guys downfield because he will pull up and launch one but he is not going to drop back, scan the field, and throw the ball into a tight space downfield that often.

With the limited number of schollies available this year unless either a couple of our QBs leave us or we get a coach who wants to go an entirely different direction I don't see a lot of room for Munchie here now. If on the other hand he were clearly willing to change positions, well, now we have room for an athlete.

Munchie and Keenan Canty were a great duo at Edna Carr High. I think Canty could have a huge voice in getting Munchie here if true. And Canty will be a stud soon w/ or w/o Munchie here.

i say give him a shot. if he competes at a higher level than our current players, excellent.

if not, then he can try for a walk on spot...
