TCU, Boise.....

No history, no upside, lots of inbreds.

Buffs have history, incredible upside. We get a decent coach, combine the grit of TCU and Boise......multiple national championships. No?

Boise St. will be done after this year. Lots of Seniors. TCU is a good team.

Neither will play in the championship game this year.

TCU would crush any current big x12 team. Boise would too, most likely.

It would be nice if we had a playoff, so we could find these kinds of things out without putting one of these teams straight into the championship game...

I dunno about that. Nevada is giving them everything they can handle right now. I wouldn't say Nevada is better than every B12 team, would you?

I think TCU is the better of the two (TCU, BSU).

Week in and week out? OU, followed by UT, followed by aTm followed by NU. They'd both do very well, mind you, and would have given the bugeaters hell for the North. Still not convinced either team would win the south though, unless it was a weird 3-way tie.

I would more likely put Boise on a par with Mizzou. A little better coached but not quite as deep on the LOS. They would start the season on fire, get themselves up in the rankings and then lose enough to knock themselves out of contention.

TCU on the other hand is in the middle of the most fetile recruiting ground in the country. They have better line play than Boise does and would have a better shot at standing up to the weekly battles. Their skill positions are good but not as deep as they would need and again would lose at least a couple of games.

Simple question. With the schedule that Boise or TCU play, on a one season basis, how many schools in the SEC go undefeated, in the Big XII, the Big X, the PAC? Combined I would guess at least 10-12

i agree when framed this way, more preferable to me than "how would BSU do in the SEC or Big XII?", i think conservatively there at least half the teams in the top 15 that go undefeated with that schedule (recalling this year they did play Va Tech and Ore State)....and when you can relative-ize their success in that way....i don't think there's any way you can make a case for them as a slam dunk even if they were undefeated....which is to say the word "deserves" as in "Boise deserves to be in..." is completely off the table. in the discussion perhaps, but not "deserves".

I like TCU's team last year and this. like Patterson....Andy Dalton seems like he's been their QB forever, though. he'll need to be replaced for them to maintain.

I've always thought TCU was better than BSU this year. HOWEVER, TCUs SoS is worse than BSU. I hope LSU leapfrogs them after a W today. They only had what 4 road games? Put them in a crowd of 50k+ loud and proud against them and let's see how they do 3 weeks in a row. At least BSU had a quality win against VT (who I know lost to JMU at home) that is playing for the ACC championship.

Interesting how the discussion ends up comparing a TCU or Boise based on their 2-3 legit games a year against teams that won a bunch of legit games and happened to lose one legit game (that was probably a tougher opponent than the 2-3 legits that the mid-majors can claim.)

TCU beat Oregon State, Utah, Baylor, and Air Force
LSU beat North Carolina, Mississipi State, West Virginia, Florida, Alabama, and will have beaten Arkansas while losing at Auburn by one score. How many of the four wins listed for TCU are better than any of the wins listed for LSU yet losing to Auburn puts them behind TCU. That is simply ridiculous.
