Intresting Interview with LSU AD (re:Miles)

Ambitious but rubbish.

A buddy of mine who is traveling down south sent me this clip LSU AD Joe Alleva looks like he's about as sick of Miles as the fans are, from the local radio down there:

All I'm going to say about Miles is be careful what you wish for. People thought Arkansas fans were insane for wanting to get rid of Nutt. OM fans and the national media bashed us like crazy for letting a "great coach" go. Look where we are now and where Ole Miss is now. I don't understand why Buffs fans have no pause about Miles. LSU doesn't want him and people are calling them "crazy" for it. Hmmm... it might be a similar situation. After watching him for quite a few years I don't think he is a very good coach, and that is with every imaginable advantage given to him at LSU.

I'm not a Miles fan. Nor do I think he's *necessarily* a great fit in Boulder. I have Okie State extended family (actually my step-dad's, but they are like fam to me)....and they were not at all sad to see Les leave Stillwater. and they are donor types, close to the program....the Posse Club or whatever the big OSU donors are called.

Thanks. I didn't expect it to be that brutal. :wow:

I took it as he really wants Les Miles. I don't see how you guys think the ad wants him gone. If anything he never wants to part with him. Almost stalkerish.

How many NCs did Nutt win? How is LSU in a better position than Alabama, Florida, or Georgia? You guys will be calling for Petrino's head two years from now, that's just how it works in the SEC.

What I'm wanting from our next coach is for him to rebuild our talent level at CU, get us in a bowl game every year, make us a legit contender to win the Pac-12 South nearly every year, make us nationally relevant again, and do it all while running a clean program.

I would be very surprised if Les Miles wasn't able to accomplish that.

I spent a month in LA a few weeks back and was listening to what was being written and said about Les. Have to say, after what I heard/read I am no longer in his camp.

Say what you want, but when the last two schools he has been at have wanted him gone, that should tell you something. There are so many things that occur that outsider fanbases are not exposed to. And as a response to Buffnik... LSU is one of the 5 easiest places to recruit in the country... CU doesn't have anything near what LSU has going for it with regards to recruiting

CU is one of the 15-25 best places in the country to recruit to. Our rankings are always in the top 10-20 following a winning season (as long as no scandal issues).

I grant that LSU is in the Top 10. Right along with Texas, USC, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Penn State and Oklahoma. Places like Texas A&M, Florida State, Miami, Michigan and UCLA should also get some consideration there. Colorado's right below that in the next tier.

But why wouldn't I think that Miles would get us our share from our primary recruiting grounds (CA, CO, TX) as well as our secondary grounds that focus west/midwest but really go nationally? If Hawkins can pull in a #15 class to CU with a staff of assistants where 3/9 didn't recruit, I'm very confident that Miles and his staff can deliver that type of performance regularly.

I call BS on this. Miles would still be at OSU if he hadn't left for LSU. There's about a 99% chance he'll be at LSU for the foreseeable future.

I think it's pronounced "pussy".

Are you really comparing Miles to Nutt? That's like comparing Stoops to Hawkins.

It's because 10 wins a year (along with 1 NC and a two trips to the SEC championship game in just 6 seasons) are not enough for them. No coach could meet their expectations.

No one accidentally wins 9 games every year. Bad coaches do not turn in 9 plus .500 seasons for every 1 sub .500 season playing in tough conferences. Is Les Miles Urban Meyer? No. Is he likely to return us to our winning ways? Highly probable.

I don't know though. Give Les Miles Tebow and he might have a few more NC's.

Some of the opinions of purple tigger fans seem to mirror those of the okie lite bunch. Neither seem to like his persona. About the only other reason I hear from the cowboy faithful is that he said he was staying put, then bolted for Baton Rouge.
