Cam newton cleared???

This is a confusing article. The NCAA says "a violation of Newton's amateur status had occurred", yet they are letting him play?

With all the recent realignment stuff going on, Auburn's thinking is clear: you don't fit in the SEC unless you have an entire undefeated championship season nullified for cheating.

So family members can shop a student athlete's services as long as the student athlete is unaware. Allsome.

War Eagle!

So this kid gets $250,000 to play at Auburn and is ruled eligible and Jeremy Bloom wants to accept just enough sponsorship money to continue his Olympic/World skiing career and is ruled ineligible.

Seems pretty freaking fair to me.

No, the NCAA is all about life lessons. The lesson here is Jeremy Bloom was a dumbass for asking for sponsorship himself. Why didn't he just have his dad take the cash??? What a ****ing idot!

The entire concept of "amaturism" is completely antiquated. Everyone knows top players get paid under the table all the time.

Mike and Mike had a pretty interesting discussion this morning with Jay Bilas about all that stuff.
